First, we have the Intel Pentium Gold G6400, an excellent entry-level processor for telecommuting, office automation and also good for gaming. If you want something more powerful and you’re on a budget, it has the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, which belongs to the company’s latest family of processors. Two different solutions, but both at an absolutely irresistible price.
Intel Pentium Gold G6400, good quality budget processor
Normally, Pentium Gold processors are seen as uninteresting solutions by users and Core is chosen. The reality is that they are excellent processors, with a very good value for money. It is clear that we will not be able to play in 4K resolutions, but with an entry-level graphics card we will be able to play Fortnite, LoL or CS:GO in 1080p resolutions without problems.
This Intel Pentium Gold G6400 processor is based on the 14 nm process and uses LGA1200 socket. This processor has 2 cores and 4 threads working in a Fixed frequency 4.0 GHz. It does not have Turbo Boost technology, but despite this, due to its working frequency, it is a very good processor.
Those who want it for office automation, telework, navigation or other, can choose to use the integrated graphics card. This processor has Intel UHD Graphics 610 which can reach a frequency of 1.05 GHz. It’s not a very powerful graphics card, but it’s more than enough to take video.
Many tasks do not require octa-core processors or high working frequencies. Even for many games, dual-core processors are more than enough. It’s a great solution if you’re on a tight budget or play light games.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, a beast of a gaming processor
If you are looking for a processor that can last for many years, this is your best option. This processor is designed for 4K gaming, we can also stream and pretty much anything. It belongs to the latest generation of AMD processors and at this price, we want to buy it.
This Ryzen 7 5800X processor is based on TSMC’s Zen3 architecture and 7nm manufacturing process. This processor has 8 cores and 16 threads processing at a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and in Boost mode it can reach 4.7 GHz. This processor lacks integrated graphics, so we will need a dedicated graphic.
All AMD processors have overclocking support, something we can do using the Ryzen Master tool. Note that the Ryzen are already very tight in terms of frequency and it is generally difficult to get more performance from them.
With this significant price drop, we are facing the best option in terms of quality/price ratio. AMD’s commitment to the modular design of its processors has been a real success.
