It is an open secret that the new generation of AMD processors, the Ryzen 9000 with architecture Zen 5are upon us, and in fact, for a long time, it has been claimed in the lies of the Internet that the July 31 This will be its official release date. Well, now a Slovenian store has listed all three Ryzen 9000 processors, and the good news is that they have also released their prices on sale.
What’s no secret is that AMD will initially launch four processors within this product line, although they are expected to launch many more mid-tier models later. We have the Ryzen 9 9950X as spearhead followed by the Ryzen 9 9900X, the Ryzen 7 9700X and the Ryzen 5 9600X, and as we have told you now, we know what we will have to pay if we want to upgrade to the one of these new processors (although, as you already know, the new generation of motherboards will arrive much later, in October).
The price of the AMD Ryzen 9000
As we told you, the Slovenian store Funtech has put the four initial processors of this new family on sale, also publishing their price and allowing pre-purchase, although they warn that shipments will not begin until August 2 (in theory the official presentation will be on the 31st of this month, remember).
So the four AMD Ryzen 9000 processors look like this:
- AMD Ryzen 9 9950X (16 cores, 32 threads) for $659.90.
- AMD Ryzen 9 9900X (12 cores, 24 threads) for $499.90.
- AMD Ryzen 7 9700X (8 cores, 16 threads) for $399.90.
- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (6 cores, 12 threads) for $309.90.
Comparing these prices to previous-generation processors, the Ryzen 9000s are surprisingly quite a bit cheaper, including the Ryzen 9 9950X at $660, which is cheaper than the Ryzen 9 7900X or even the 7950X3D cost when it launched. Of course, that’s not the case anymore, these processors have seen their prices drop and you can currently buy the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X3D for around $610, although it has occasionally been on sale for even less.
When they launch, new generations of processors almost always have higher prices than the previous generation, but if AMD Ryzen has taught us anything, it’s that prices adjust quickly, so we can expect that by the time they are released for the new next-gen motherboards in October, prices will already be adjusted, and we could even see them on sale for the Back-to-School and Black Friday campaigns.
In any case, remember that if you have a current AM5 platform, you will be able to use these new processors without having to change your motherboard (potentially, simply by updating its BIOS to the latest version). It is also worth remembering that in addition to these new generation processors, AMD will launch two new models for the AM4 socket, so if you still have this socket launched in 2016 you will also have new processors to update your system without having to change the motherboard or RAM.
