Google Pixel phones are popular for many reasons, including regular drops of pixels full of new features.
The brand has entered the rhythm of a new drop of pixels each month. The update of April, however, contains only one new feature, which is far from the typical 15-20 that we are used to seeing.
So, although it is a calm month, Pixel Phone users can always revel in the new Gemini Live feature, which can completely change the way you interact with the AI assistant.
You can now show Gemini what you look at via the phone camera or share your screen to ask a question or get advice. The short video example shows someone who asks what type of shark she sees in the aquarium, which is quite neat – is like having this expert friend who knows everything with you all the time.
The camera and screen sharing function is available for free for all Pixel 9 users (all models), or for anyone with an advanced Gemini subscription – it is therefore not exclusive to Pixel 9 phones.
The drop pixel of April included another feature outside the phones, but it is more limited because it is specific to Pixel Watch 2 and Watch 3. You will also have to be connected to a Pixel 9 via Bluetooth in the United States and to speak English.
If you can check all these boxes, then the detection of the scam – an existing pixel phone function, now future – is at your disposal. This will help you avoid calls from harmful sources, although Google admits that it is not 100%precise.
Google says: “Your Watch Pixel warns you a scam in mid-cap when it receives a Bluetooth signal from your Pixel 9 phone. So, if you are on the move, you can be alerted to a scam call without needing to remove your phone.”
