Google Gemini could be the assistant of the dominant mobile AI by the end of the year according to its CEO, appearing on almost all smartphones at work.
Sundar Pichai was in court to talk about his business plans for AI, and he revealed that Gemini could be added to iOS 19 as an IA option at its launch later this year.
Given that Gemini is already the assistant of AI dominating on Android, the largest operating system in the world (regardless of the mobile operating system), a visit to iOS would put Google AI in a powerful position.
The biggest rival in the company, Chatgpt, is already partly integrated into the set of Apple Intelligence of iOS 18 features, but its presence on Android is non -existent unless you download the Chatgpt application.
Why the Gemini almost certainly arrive on iOS
Pichai claims to have organized a certain number of discussions with his Apple counterpart, Tim Cook, throughout 2024, with an AI agreement likely to be concluded in the middle of 2025.
The code found in the beta iOS 18.4 version earlier this year seems to corroborate this gemini iOS integration.
This may look like a strange partnership given the enormous expenses of Apple in its own AI initiative, but there are a few things to note here.
As Bloomberg notes, Apple has always been pragmatic in the fields where Google has unequaled expertise. YouTube came preinstalled on the first iPhone models, while Google also used the iPhone mapping solution before Apple Maps launch in 2012.
The Apple agreement with Google so that the latter provides the default search engine on Safari – an agreement that was worth billions of dollars a year.

Apple Intelligence does not seem too smart
The fact that a similar agreement seems to be concluded in the emerging world of AI is in itself. This suggests that Google has already established a dominant position in this fin and that Apple is far from the pace.
Apple should finally launch its overhaul of IA Siri with iOS 19, which will be launched alongside the iPhone 17. Generalized rumors of fighting and mismanagement seem to explain why the great push of Apple AI is at the wake of the launch of the iPhone 16.
It seems that Google could be ready to dive and provide iOS essential intelligence.
