The Google Chatbot AI could soon get a major upgrade that allows it to press your search history, offering more personalized responses depending on what you have looked before.
This potential feature was discovered by Android Authority in an APK disassembly of the latest Google Beta application (version 16.8.31), referring to a next model called “Gemini Personalization”.
This version of Google Gemini seems designed to provide assistance adapted to your previous research. If you opt, it could have access to your Google research history, which makes its responses more relevant to your interests. However, the functionality only works if the “Web & app APTIVITY” setting is activated.
If you are concerned about confidentiality, according to a Confirmation of Confirmation window (above, second image), your data will not be shared on all Gemini models, unless you specifically allow it. Only the personalization model will have access, and there is an easy option to withdraw.
Android Authority reports that this version of Gemini has been able to summarize recent research and highlight specific requests from the last two months. Although it is always in the experimental phase, the results suggest that this could be a useful tool for people who frequently use Google research.
Although the personalization model should be available for users of Gemini Advanced (requires £ 18.99 / $ 20 per month Google One subscription), it has not been officially announced when it is deployed. Speculation suggests that it could happen soon.
