Google pixel phones have always been known for their stellar camera performance, especially in terms of computer photography. And with the personalized FAI in Tensor G5, things are about to improve again.

That said, a report revealed that camera equipment in the Pixel 10 range receives significant changes – but not necessarily improvements.

Starting with Pixel 10, it will indeed include a telephoto lens, confirmed as a Samsung 3J1 11MP – the same as that found in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, it has a cost.

The main sensor is demoted from the Samsung GNV 50MP to the smallest Samsung GN8 50MP, while the Ultrawide goes from a Sony IMX858 of 48 MP to a Sony IMX712 of 13 MP. These same sensors have already been used in Pixel 9A.

The selfie camera also changes, from an IMX712 13MP to the same Samsung 3J1 11MP. Although Google can use advanced AI and ISA treatment to improve results, the smallest sensors can cause low light light performance and a reduction in image details.

The Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, on the other hand, will stick to the same camera equipment as last year: a Samsung 50MP primary sensor and a Sony IMX858 of 48 MP for ultrawid, telephoto and frontal tasks. However, the new Tensor G5 ISP could help extract the existing configuration more.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will receive a minor update, with the main Sony IMX787 64MP of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold replaced by the Samsung GN8 50MP, again used in the 9a pixel. Aside from this change of main objective, the rest of the camera configuration remains intact.

These changes indicate a wider Google strategy: differentiating the basic model more clearly from pro devices. But with the basic pixel 10 using Pixel 9A equipment, plus a telephoto lens, it could be a difficult sale at around £ 800 /800 unless software progress provides significant gains.

The Pixel 10 series will also continue to focus on IA -based improvements rather than these hardware upgrades.

Finally, we can expect AI features like “Add me” and “Reimagine” – which made its debut on the Pixel 9 series – to evolve, giving users more creative tools to modify and perfect their photos.

The recent leak in the Google Gchips division mentioned above shed light on the advanced characteristics of the AI ​​and the camera.

With the Pixel 10, fueled by the Tensor G5, users can expect HDR 4K video recording to 60 frames per second, a substantial upgrade compared to the limit of 30 frames per second on the Pixel 9, bringing the google devices closer to the capacities of its competitors.

The G5 can also introduce video mounting features fueled by AI, including “IA -based intuitive video modification” in Google Photos, which could work as a “magic editor” for videos.
