One of the most unique and appreciated features of Google Pixel smartphones has not worked as announced lately.
Game functionality is one of these small bonus features that can really improve the ownership of pixels. It mainly keeps your pixel phone on a constant alert for any music playing in the background.
From Pixel 2 to the current Pixel 9 series, when you take a look at the phone during a music track, the said piece will be identified right on the locking screen. It will also be noted for posterity in the Now Playing application.
What is the problem with the game now?
This is how the game should work. However, a new Android report Authority claims that the functionality has not worked correctly for many people.
Many pixel owners went to Reddit to point out that their Pixel phones no longer identify themselves by playing music, despite the confirmation that the game is active in the settings menu.
This seems to be a problem that has manifested itself very recently. “With my Pixel 6, it was fantastic,” notes a user. “He would recognize almost all songs, whether automatically or manually. But now it barely works. »»
Anecdotal proof
This is a problem that I can attest to living on my Pixel 9 Pro, although intermittently. Sometimes it seems to work as expected, with a long list of track tracks and days with radio. On other occasions, he seems to be white on successive songs.
Indeed, one evening, seated in a bar with a friend on arrival of the pixels, none of our phones resumed the classic track of funk and the soul who played in the background.
For the purposes of this room, I removed my pixel and I quickly played through three songs of YouTube Music. Now playing is only picked up the third.

Play now broken?
Anecdotal evidence is one thing, of course. But this last report highlights many similar problems that occur for several owners of pixels, which underlines a much wider problem. Am I playing now flat?
As the report points out, the problem was initially raised on the Google problems tracking last year. Google, for its part, published an update of Android System Intelligence in January to provide “bug corrections and improvements to Pixel now the art album functionality”, but apparently without effect.
A potential bypass solution is to erase the reading cover of your Pixel phone while heading to the settings> Applications> All applications> Android System Intelligence> Storage and Cache, then pressing the Earch cache button.
Otherwise, Pixel owners will have to wait until Google issues a correct reading correction.
