Google works on a way to add cards to Google Wallet to your Android phone in the most practical way imaginable.
According to the code discovered in the new Google Play Services Beta (version 25.16.33), Google works on a way to add debit and credit cards to Google Wallet with a simple tap.
The current system forces you to scan a new card using the camera of your Android phone, or to do it the meticulous manual.
Press to add for Google Wallet
However, Android Authority discovered “NFC adds a card”, “Details of the TAP NFC card” in the code, as well as the instruction to “maintain your card near the back of your device until it vibrates”. This seems to be in specific reference to the “add the payment method” screen of Google Wallet.
NFC, of course, means a communication close to the field, and is the technology that allows you to type with your phone in stores.
This method would ostensibly reversed this process, allowing you to press the card details on your phone.
All tarped
As the report suggests, you will almost certainly have to provide the three -digit CVV code for security reasons, and there will probably be a process of checking your bank. This can be a text message code, a call or a mobile application prompt.
Even so, being able to add your card with a tap seems much more practical than existing methods. To be honest, we are amazed that neither Google nor Apple have already implemented such functionality.
The report also stresses that there may be limits in terms of compatibility, because each debit or credit card does not offer basic card information in a way so suitable for NFC.
There is no indication on the moment when this functionality of Tapo-to-Azée will be added to Google Wallet, but we should not have too much time to wait.
