It arrived at the end of 2022 and was one of the names most appreciated by players Since. A Plague Tale Requiem which once again set the bar very high for Asobo Studio while waiting for a sequel… or another title that follows in the footsteps of this saga. Now, despite the positive reviews, it still owed us all a mode with a higher frame rate. And did it happen?
Finally the 60 fps arrives!
As we tell you, and although it has gone unnoticed by the vast majority, Requiem from a plague tale sentered the market with a maximum cap of 30 frames per second
Keep in mind that for this second part, we went from seeing them on screen to Innocence about 5,000 of these rodents, for infinite masses which were close to 300,000 in Requiem. So imagine all the power it takes to really move that whole group of graphics with minimal fluidity. So this rate of frames per second was set to 30.
Now Asobo Studio has added to Requiem from a plague tale a performance mode in all its versions
If you have seen the video you have just above, you will have noticed some things that are small trapsingenious tricks to have part of the game at 60 fps but leaving the trickiest at 30. That is to say that rat infestations keep popping up on screen with half frames per second, there is therefore a strange desynchronization effect between the part of the screen that we perceive as more fluid and the other which is obviously not. And the same goes for NPCs.
How to activate 60 fps?
Whether you have a PC, Xbox Series X or PS5, you will be able to access this new mode thanks to the 1.5 update that happened in the last hours, so it checks that the client of Requiem from a plague tale applied it correctly and, if not, go and find it in the official store of your platform to download and install it correctly.
Although this process is usually automatic, if you are not one of those who leave your console idle, it is possible that you have not downloaded it in the background, so you can start the game without applying the patch. As soon as you are sure you have already installed it, You just have to launch the game and in the configuration options, choose the performance mode. So you can enjoy those general 60 frames per second… except for the endless hordes of rats and NPC movements, which are also maintained with half the frames of the rest of the elements that appear on screen.
