Usually, when we use software to record a screen limited to games, it can be streamed live on platforms such as Twitch, uploading videos to YouTube or simply watching games. However, there may be a situation where we also want to record the desktopfor example teaching a friend to do something, or simply doing it record games that do not use full screen.
Next we will teach you how to use NVIDIA GeForce Experience to do it in a few minutes.
Configure the GeForce Experience
We think you have a GeForce Experience already installed and a NVIDIA compatible graphics card. The first thing to do is install the app, click on the appropriate cogwheel to access the options, too Activate the "Overlay Game" option.
Now that we've activated it, we can either press ALT + Z to access the options, or click the "configuration" button below in the same section. This will take us to settings, and should completely go down, to privacy management.
When we get there, we will see that there is only one way, which we have to use for the program to record the desktop over gaming on a full screen (it turns out we can't give it because we were recording a screen with GeForce Experience to take a screenshot, since overlay you can't take screenshots when it can be recorded on video ).
Once we have this functionality, we must now simply configure where we want the videos to be saved. To do this, we go back to processing with ALT + Z but in this case we will go to "Recordings".
In the window that opens, we simply point the path where we want to save the saved files. Remember that, by default, the software will create a folder called «Desktop» within the path we tell you. In the case of this example, even though we have shown E: Recordings, the videos will be saved in E: Record Desktop (Note: it is gray and does not allow us to change it because we are recording yet).
You're done! Now out press ALT + F9 that we can start recording even though we are on a desktop, and we will be saved from the path we have shown. To stop recording you have to press ALT + F9 again, in fact when you start and stop you will find a message that shows you at the top right of the screen.
It may sound silly, but the desktop setting privacy settings are automatically disabled, and if you don't know where to go bee trying to record a desktop or full-screen game using the GeForce Experience with no success.
