Specifically, we'll tell you three possible ways to help you "recharge" a dead laptop battery, and we'll order it from the top to work properly. In either case, use these methods at your own risk, since no one guarantees that the battery will work again and, in fact, in both of them there is some danger (we'll explain it below). Our recommendation is that once your laptop's battery has stopped working, replace it with a new one.
Run the laptop battery
This method is the most widely used and widely known and, in fact, the most likely to work but only if the battery is nickel-iron hydride (NiMH) or nickel-cadmium (NiCd). This way it does not work with lithium ion batteries, so if this is the case your article isn't worth it or try it.
This approach may seem counterintuitive, but by releasing NiMH or NiCd batteries we are treating the electrolyte of the battery sufficiently with the charging process to overcome the crystallization, on the other hand reducing the movement of electrons within the battery to engage the flow of electricity.
The first step, of course, is turning off the laptop and removing the battery. Now you must place the battery in a cloth bag (it is appropriate to cover it completely with a dry cloth), and this inside a an integrated plastic bag Ziploc type to sign it (this is important, a regular bag will not drain the battery from moisture). Once we have it, we should place the battery in the fridge for about 10 hours and, after that time, we have to remove it from the freezer and its packaging and allow it to evaporate, naturally, before re-installing it on the laptop.
Apply more volume
Be very careful with this method, because if we pass it we can make the battery explode, so it is recommended that if you do this procedure, do it with gloves and safety glasses. In this case, yes it works on lithium ion batteries.
This way we will need three things: telephone clips, a small cable (for example an old Ethernet cable we don't know how to trick) and a laptop charger. The first thing we must do is find out positive and negative battery poles
Now you have to cut two pieces of fine wire, each about 10 inches, and we should wrap the ends a few inches and let them connect. We have to install the cable to the positive pole and the other to the negative battery pole. Now we have to put a good cord on the inside part of the power connector, and with the help of the crocodile clip, we will connect the cable to the discomfort on the outside.
Now in theory we should leave the battery charge for about two hours. After that time, we will remove all the "wasted" we have collected with great care, because doing so will happen we will run the risk of a battery explosion. If all goes well, we can replace the battery on the laptop and try to see if it works.
Replace the battery cells
This third method is the most complicated and the most expensive (in the work) of all, and we really set it as a curiosity than an efficient method because normally with a small amount you can buy a new battery and you will have all the warranties. In any case, in most batteries the cells are replaced, and for this purpose it will be necessary turn on the battery to access it.
Once we have done that, we can see the size and size of the cells they have, buy the same one, and put one in one. By this step, moreover, they may have been made of metal and we need an ironering tank and tin to define the old and soften the new ones.
