The Streamer TV is the essential entertainment apparatus of Google technology giant now that chromecast has ceased to be sold as new. As such, more and more users will go to this media box, which was launched last year.
If it's you, then you will want to get the most out of your streaming device, and navigation is one of the best ways to cut time to scroll through your TV operating system. Fortunately, Google has a shortcut designed to do exactly that.
What is the Google TV Stream shortcut button?
You can find the customizable button to stream Google TV at the bottom of the remote control on the right – it has a star icon on it. See below:

The same button is not available on chromecastes.
When you configure your Google TV streamer for the first time, the device will invite you to map this button to your chosen function. However, if you were in a hurry to stream your favorite Netflix show (and I can't blame you if so), you may have rushed this step.

Once your Google TV streamer is on, keep the star button for 1 to 2 seconds until the page with the title “Create a shortcut” appears.

You can also find this button by going to the settings> Remote controls and accessories> Configure the remote buttons, then by clicking on “Customizable button”.
Once on the page, you will have three basic options to choose. When you have selected the one you want, be sure to confirm your choice by pressing “Create a shortcut”.
There is no limit to the number of times you can assign this button.

Assign the Google TV Streaming shortcut button for your smart home
Google TV Streamer was the first Google entertainment device that could be integrated into your intelligent house ecosystem, although older chromecastes have also acquired this functionality.
If you attribute the button to this, it will automatically open the home panel on the right side of your TV – it can superimpose the screen on which you are.
The domestic panel can be used to control any registered device on the Google Home application on your smartphone – This includes products with material support. This covers intelligent lighting such as nanolent, thermostats, doorbell cameras such as nest, locking, traffic jams, vacuum cleaners, televisions and speakers.
From there, you can activate and deactivate the devices and control certain elements – for example, you can switch the brightness of your smart lighting.

Assign the Google TV Streamer shortcut button for your favorite application
If you are not the biggest adopter of Smart Home devices, you may prefer to use the shortcut button to quickly access your favorite streaming service.
The remote control already includes shortcut buttons for Netflix and Youtube, but you can assign your personalized button to any other installed Smart TV application, including Disney +, Max, Twitch, Tiktok, Video, Hulu, Spotify and more – the applications will vary depending on the country in which you are.

Attribute the Google TV Streamer shortcut button for HDMI inputs
Finally, you can use the shortcut button to switch between entries for your TV. This is particularly useful if you have a sound bar link or if you want to go to another TV interface.
Chromecast remote controls included a button only dedicated to this goal.
