As it has been since 1967, CES kicks off the calendar year in style, with a host of new tech products announced. The last two editions have been affected by the pandemic, but many people will be heading to Las Vegas now that restrictions have been lifted.
However, if you can’t make it to the event in person, don’t worry. Almost all press conferences will be broadcast live worldwide, with no exceptions for Asus.
The Taiwanese company has announced two CES events for early January, including one dedicated to its ROG gaming brand, separate from other announcements. Here’s everything you need to know about the two.
When are the Asus CES 2023 press conferences?
Asus is hosting two hardware events at CES, 24 hours apart. The first is ROG on January 3, 2023 – it starts at 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. GMT or 7 p.m. CET.
Then the regular Asus event will start on January 4, 2023 at exactly the same time – 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm GMT or 7pm CET.
How to watch the Asus CES 2023 press conferences
Asus hasn’t confirmed where you can watch the press conferences, but YouTube seems the most likely. Specifically, these will be the official Asus and ROG channels.
Via the dedicated event pages on the Asus website and the ROG website, there’s the option to “get notified” and make sure you don’t miss a thing.
Events may also be broadcast on Facebook and Twitter, as is sometimes the case with technology launches. We’ll update this article if any of them are confirmed.
What to expect from Asus at CES 2023
No upcoming product has been officially revealed yet, but we can take some hints from the teasers.
Asus’ press conference is captioned “seeing an incredible future”, with a short animation showing objects appearing to shoot out of the screen. An AR game on the website shows what looks like a 3D image – could Asus join Acer in creating a laptop with 3D without glasses.
It’s probably a new device, but many other laptops could use an update. 2023 releases of Zenbook, Vivobook, ProArt, and Chromebooks could all be on the way.
Things are less clear when it comes to ROG, with the “For Those Who Dare to the Max” subtitle not revealing much. This suggests there will be another jump in performance, but it’s apparently not whether there will be any big changes beyond updating internals.
Either way, there will likely be updates to some Strix, Zephyrus, Flow, and TUF Gaming devices. Later teasers released by Asus suggest that the company’s high-end Nebula displays will be coming to more models.
The only way to know for sure is to tune in to both press conferences.
