As much as a keyboard is quality and has great durability, in the end when you make hundreds of thousands of pulsations per month, wear is inevitable and plays to change the keyboard.
Why did I choose a 98%format?
As I had to change the keyboard, let's say I wanted to change. In my professional (and non-professional) career, I had dozens of different keyboards, but I had never had who would come out of standards, that is to say keyboards in full format or as much TKL. This keyboard is wireless, with a connection mode via a battery at 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth or a cable, and its 3,750 mAh battery has promised a lot of autonomy. The model I bought came with brown switches from Viridian, equivalent to Cherry MX Brown With linear operation, 50 million pulses of life expectancy and tactile feedback, with the addition that they are hot, so I could change them if I wanted.
The truth is that the keyboard looked incredible, and I also found it with the iso-e-e-spun distribution, so a priori was perfect for a person like me who spends the day “hammering” the keys.
But when I started using it, my perception on this subject has changed a lot …
If it's so good, why did I return it?
The truth is that the keyboard is a pass, it works in luxury and that the feeling during the noise is very pleasant. However, I have encountered many other things that not only did I like, but they prevented me from doing my job properly. Many will say that these are things inherent in a keyboard in 98%format, others will think that it is a question of getting used to it and that you are probably right, but things, that's what I found ::
- The space bar has made a lot of noise. Only the space bar, for any reason. It was a much higher noise than that of other keys and that honestly produced me, especially because space is one of the keys that is most used, if not the one that most. Fortunately, as the switches are interchangeable and I had a Razer yellow switching box, I changed this switch and the problem was corrected.
- The Supr key is located where the IRG is normally located. Hange. And where is the Supr key, there is the one on AV. The problem is that, despite having already located the key, when I wanted to press, it was too far and had to move the whole right hand to do it, making me deconcentrate and lose the thread of what I wrote.
- There is a start -up button but no final key. friendly. And believe me that in my work, you use this key a lot.
- The battery lasted about a day and a half, with 20% backlit. With a battery of 3,750 mAh, I expected at least a week of autonomy, but in the end, it turned out to be well below my expectations.
- Rétrolilumination is of the sub-settlementThat is to say that the keys are not lit in itself, they are completely opaque, and the lighting is only under the keys, creating environmental lighting but very different from normal. It finished not to love me at all, even if I understand that there will be a lot of people who are (it's purely aesthetic and for fun, because after all, I do not look at the keyboard during the 'Writing, I don't need to see the keys).
I am aware that all this in the end, these are things of personal preferences and nothing more, and that we devote ourselves to this, we are quite “Tquismis” with the keyboards, our main work tool. But in the end, if you are not comfortable, you are not comfortable, and in the case of your main work tool, I consider that it is the utmost importance.
