Apple last week published iOS 18.3.2 and iPados 18.3.2. They come without new sophisticated features, but they will help protect iPhone and iPad users from a serious security defect that has the potential to give hackers a free pass to your data.
The flaw was partially blocked in iOS 17.2, but the last update is supposed to remove the vulnerability once and for all.
As Techcrunch reported, the defect allowed attackers to use web content maliciously designed to escape webkit safety restrictions. This type of feat is particularly worrying because webkit feeds Safari and many other applications executed on Apple devices.
Apple admitted that this flaw may have been exploited in an “extremely sophisticated attack”, targeting users carrying out older versions of its iOS and iPados mobile operating systems. Although Apple has not revealed to what extent the attack has been widespread or which it affected, this additional correction implies that this is a serious problem.

If you have not already updated your device, do it now: to update your iPhone or iPad, go to settings> General> Software update.
Be notified that updating the operating system will also allow Apple Intelligence, but this can be deactivated if you do not want to use it.
