We are not saying anything new if we say that in Europe, Xbox is light years away PlayStation. This is something that has been happening since the first play and this has continued to be repeated with each new generation. Even the success of the Xbox 360 in some countries like the United States or the United Kingdom did not prevent the PS3 from being the reference system here at that time. So, does the drama you are experiencing have a solution? Microsoft in our country?
It is true that with Xbox 360 It seemed like the brand had some distance and that the game wouldn’t be a rout for PlayStaiton, but that quickly ended as soon as Xbox One set foot in stores in November 2013. It did so with a price tag 100 dollars more expensive than the PS4 and with a Kinect that no one understood what he was doing in that box with the console and the controller.
The first blow to Xbox came 11 years ago
Just throw Xbox One We could see that the PS4 was going to sweep. In Europe, sales were extremely favorable to Sony, so Microsoft could only watch. It was the time when the North American company maintained a solid structure in Europe, with excellent marketing professionals working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to get the new hardware off the ground. But problems soon arose.
Just after a few months, we started hearing that this or that person from the division of Xbox in Europe he was leaving. One of the most classic faces of Microsoft and Xbox for many years, he said goodbye to everyone, which did not bode well because many others left later. One by one until leaving a department in charge of promoting the machine very reduced, without internal workers and with a budget that should not have been enough.
From then on it became clear that Microsoft They did not trust Europe and dismantled the entire department because they considered the battle lost. And this continued until Xbox Series X|S (since we are, it expands its storage) where it cannot be said that it has reinforced anything to try to reverse the situation. Thus, as we tell you in the title, it is impossible for sales to resume in our country.
And what are all these discussions about?
All this comes from the news you have read these days and which Microsoft will reduce marketing budgets and action of the Xbox series So if you are Xboxor you just have machines Microsoftyou know things can’t get any worse.
And perhaps you will think that these things have no effect, but since Xbox has such a small market in Europe that obtaining certain games physically has become impossible since the third partyeither they don’t bring units, or they do it drop by drop so they sell quickly. So you have to turn to marketplaces like Amazon that bring them in from everywhere.
So, with this panorama, how can we Xbox trying to compete in Europe with PS5? It’s impossible.
