The Lenovo-owned brand has added a new model to the lineup in the form of the Edge 50 Pro, launched in India. Based on its specs and expected global launch, there’s a lot to be excited about.
But what will happen to the other two models? Here’s everything you need to know about the three expected Edge 50 series phones.
When will the Motorola Edge 50 series be released?
The Edge 50 Pro launched on April 3, 2024 in India before its release on April 9, 2024.
Recent generations of phones, including last year’s Edge 40 Pro, have arrived in the UK and US, and we don’t expect it to be any different this time around.
There is also uncertainty over the launch of other models in the Edge 50 series – the Fusion and Ultra variants have been rumored.

How much will the Motorola Edge 50 series cost?
So far, we only have the official prices of the Edge 50 Pro in India.
It starts at INR 31,999 (£305/$383) for the 8/256 GB variant, with the 12/256 GB model costing INR 35,999 (£343/$431) for the 12/256 GB version.
However, the above UK and US prices are only direct conversions – the actual figures are likely much higher.
The pricing of previous models gives us a rough idea of how much you should expect to pay, whether it’s the Pro model or the Ultra and Fusion versions.

What specifications and features will the Motorola Edge 50 series have?
So far, Motorola has only officially announced the Edge 50 Pro in India. However, this phone is expected to be released worldwide at some point.

In the meantime, the Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Ultra will likely arrive at a later date, so we’ve included the main rumors regarding these phones.
It’s likely that several phones will eventually be included in the Edge 50 lineup.
For now, we’ve confirmed the Edge 50 Pro’s specs, but we’ve also found rumors about key aspects of the Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Ultra models.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro
The Edge 50 Pro sports a 6.7-inch curved pOLED display, featuring a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and Pantone validated colors for increased accuracy. It notably includes a 50 MP front camera with autofocus and an integrated fingerprint scanner.
The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage. On the software side, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro introduces a new HelloUX interface built on Android 14, which includes the option of custom generative AI wallpapers.
For those worried about software support, Motorola promises to provide three years of Android version upgrades and four years of security updates for the Edge 50 Pro. However, it should be noted that security updates will be released quarterly, rather than on the more common monthly schedule.
Additionally, it will be the first device to support Motorola Smart Connect, which aims to make using the Edge 50 Pro with o ther Motorola and Lenovo devices seamless. This includes support for external displays and easy data syncing.
On the back, there is a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 10MP telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, and a 13MP ultra-wide lens that doubles as a macro camera. Motorola’s new AI Photo Enhancement Engine should further improve image quality.
The Edge 50 Pro has a 4,500mAh battery and fast charging capabilities, including 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It also boasts an IP68 rating for durability water and dust.
Available as standard in Black Beauty and Luxe Lavender colors, the Edge 50 Pro also has a limited edition Moonlight Pearl variant designed by the Mazzucchelli 1849 company.

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion
According to Android Headlines, the Edge 50 Fusion will also feature a 6.7-inch curved pOLED display, but will go down to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset.
Estimated benchmark tests for the Edge 30 Fusion show that it scores a respectable 913 in single-core and 2,629 in multi-core Geekbench 6. It will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which is quite typical of Motorola’s mid-range phones.
The device will apparently feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide camera on the back, while the front is expected to feature a 32MP punch-hole selfie lens .
The Edge 50 Fusion is expected to feature a 5,000mAh battery with 68W wired charging, although the charger may not be included in the box. Motorola guarantees waterproofing with an IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass 5 for durability against shattering.
Available in Ballad Blue, Peacock Pink and Tidal Teal, all featuring a textured back, with Ballad Blue having a vegan leather finish.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
Android Headlines also leaked the Edge 50 Ultra, and the specs seem to make sense.
It features a triple rear setup of 50Mp sensors, including a periscope lens for 5x optical zoom, as well as laser autofocus and a triple LED flash.
The Edge 50 Ultra is expected to use the all-new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and likely pair it with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and a minimum of 256 GB of storage.
The phone will sport a curved display with a central camera hole, as well as the new Hello UI based on Android 14, along with three years of OS upgrades.
The device will be available in three colors, including Peach Fuzz, the Pantone Color of the Year 2024. Unlike the Peach Fuzz and Black models, the Light Beige variant features a continuous, one-piece back, providing a unified aesthetic.
