When is Mufasa: The Lion King coming to theaters?
Mufasa: The Lion King is scheduled to release on Friday, December 20, 2024 in the United States and United Kingdom.
In the United States, tickets will be available on AMC Theaters or Fandango.
In the UK, you can book tickets via the Vue, Showcase, Odeon or Cineworld websites.

When will Mufasa: The Lion King be released on VOD?
As of now, Walt Disney Studios has not revealed when the film will be released digitally. However, Disney films are typically available to stream 67 days after opening in theaters – this was the case with recent hits like Deadpool & Wolverine and Inside Out 2.
There is therefore a good chance that in the United States, Mufasa: The Lion King will be broadcast on VOD on Tuesday February 25, 2025. Remember, however, that this date is only an estimate, and that Disney has yet to confirm it. It's also possible that UK viewers will have to wait a little longer for the film, as has been the case previously.
When will Mufasa: The Lion King be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
When it comes to the release of physical copies of Disney films, there is also a trend: they usually appear three weeks after the film debuts on VOD.
It is therefore very likely that in the United States, Mufasa will appear on DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday March 18, 2025. We will update this article when Disney officially confirms this date.
When will Mufasa: The Lion King be released on streaming services?
As a Disney film, Mufasa will eventually land on the Mickey Mouse streaming service. For now, the exact date remains unknown. Arguably this will happen shortly after physical copies of the film are released – Deadpool & Wolverine and Inside Out 2 appeared on Disney+ three weeks after the DVD and Blu-ray release.
If Mufasa: The Lion King follows the same pattern, it could be available to stream early April 2025.
