We love Mobile World Congress, The Tech Show in Barcelona which offers phones, tablets and portable devices in Gogo. But there was a remarkable trend in 2025 that we did not expect – concepts.
As a rule, companies like Xiaomi, Honor, Samsung and others are launching their latest and best devices in a range of product categories. And even if it happened once again, he seemed to walk in the exhibition halls, that there were so many devices on which you might never get your hands.
At least one concept was expected from Lenovo, because the company likes proof of concepts. Last year, we saw a transparent screen laptop and this year we saw the Thinkbook Flip with its folding screen to the outside as well as a solar energy yoga laptop.

I thought it would be roughly a lot, but almost all the brands of Big Tech showing goods in Barcelona had a kind of strange and crazy idea and that made wandering between the cabins much more interesting.
On the phone side, two combinations focused on photography stood out. The optical system of the Xiaomi module, which is much more exciting than the name suggests, with a magnetic lens and sensor, and an ultra realme concept which has an integrated sensor and can manage traditional interchangeable lenses.
We are far from being here while a trip to the Tecno stand revealed that he had a rival Galaxy S25 Edge in the Slim spark. It is only 5.75 mm thick compared to the 6.4 mm of the edge. It looks like a perfectly plausible handset, especially when it goes beyond a Samsung, but no, it's another concept.
Tecno did not stop there, because it also shown a triple to compete with the Mate XT of Huawei and the next tripol of Samsung which should be called the Galaxy G Fold. The version of Tecno is a concept, but the phantom Ultimate 2 is even thinner than that of Huawei at 11 mm when it is folded compared to 12.8 mm of Huawei.
Speaking of Samsung, the company's display branch had a whole selection of concepts on display. Some of which were seen in January at CES 2025, but many were fresh in the laboratory.
The most interesting of everyone was a device best described as if Nintendo has narrowed the switching console and made it foldable in the middle. A game phone with dedicated commands, which does not need a case because you just fold it when you're done? Yes please, Samsung.
The company also showed a flexible case like a kind of foldable knotty tablet and a Galaxy Z flip style phone with not a hinge, but two. Unfortunately, we did not see this in person because it would have been scratched and removed the stand.
You might think that was everything for concepts at MWC, but we are not completely finished. Although it is not exposed to the show itself, Infinix unveiled two conceptual phones at Show Stoppers.
One has solar panels at the back to load the sun or a sufficiently strong light source, while the other has an EINK screen that changes color at the back.
We left the spectacle seduced and amazed by these concepts. He certainly made a change from another mid -range Android phone with perfectly thin specifications and boring design.
It is soft to be, however, because many of these devices will never see the light of day. We would not be surprised if we see part of the technology arriving in future products, however – especially when those like the Snap -on Xiaomi camera are already quite polite and functional.
Hoping that we will see it at the MWC 2026 on the Xiaomi 16 series with some of the other funky devices that we saw this year. For the moment, here are our Best of MWC 2025 prices.
