After Mobile World Congress (MWC) was canceled in 2020 and in 2021 it had to be postponed to May (with many presentations virtual instead of in person), it finally looks like the event has returned to normal.
On February 28, 2022, the MWC Barcelona event will be inaugurated and will run until March 3. Like every year, this event will give us the opportunity to learn about all the novelties in mobile telephony that we can expect to see this new year.
These are the best smartphones available right now, in case you want to know the models already on the market.
When is the MWC in Barcelona?
The official dates for MWC 2022 are: February 28 to March 3, 2022.
Will the MWC take place in Barcelona?
For now, Barcelona will continue to have the title of mobile city, at least until 2024 for sure, according to the agreements of the organization, the Generalitat and the Spanish government.
As planned last year, the event would be held in person again as in the past in 2022, so for now it looks like we can trust the predictions.
Despite the sixth wave, the event will be face-to-face
Despite news of a super-contagious sixth wave, event organizers decided to go ahead. John Hoffman, CEO of the organization, explained that The current situation makes connectivity “deeply important” and that the organizers have already accumulated three pandemic editions (Shanghai, Los Angeles and Barcelona last year) which demonstrate their ability to offer a congress in complete safety.
