Rumors are starting to surface that OnePlus may be set to release the first Model T for its Nord lineup of smart phones affordable. That’s all we know about the OnePlus Nord 2T so far.
When will the OnePlus Nord 2T be released?
OnePlus hasn’t officially announced the launch date for the new Nord 2T, but several sites are reporting that it will likely be in April or May. The source of this date is the well-known informant Technology OnLeakswhich has teamed up with Indian tech site 91Mobiles to share details of the new device.
Leaker Yogesh Brar agrees, but is a bit more specific, pointing to late April or early May as the likely time frame. So the phone will launch after the OnePlus 10 Pro, but before the Nord 3, 10R, and 10 Ultra.
The original OnePlus Nord 2 5G debuted in late July 2021, so the April/May date doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
How much will the OnePlus Nord 2T cost?
Current rumors suggest that OnePlus will cost the Nord 2T between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 in India. This translates to around 350-480 dollars. We assume there will be variants: the OnePlus Nord 2 5G came in these configurations
- 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage: ₹27,999
- 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage: $399/₹29,999
- 12GB RAM + 256GB Storage: $469/₹34,999
We expect a similar price range for the Nord 2T as it needs to fit into the general fabric of OnePlus phones which also includes the new OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G and any potential OnePlus Nord N10 5G successors.
What new features will we see in the OnePlus Nord 2T?
Again, OnePlus has yet to confirm the Nord 2T, but the leaks we’ve seen give quite a bit of detail on what we can expect when the new model arrives.
Processor
Rumors suggest that OnePlus is very likely to use the new chipset Rating 1300 in the North 2T. This will be a step up from the OnePlus Nord 2 5G’s Dimensity 1200, as MediaTek tweaked the previous design for more power.
It’s also likely to be aided by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage onboard. As for Software, OxygenOS 12 will be on the agenda, based on Android 12.
Screen
The Nord 2T is said to have a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 2400×1080 resolution, just like the model it succeeds. A 90Hz refresh rate will keep things running smoothly, although it may disappoint would-be gamers that it doesn’t have the 120Hz capabilities of some rival phones.
cameras
Triple optics are standard on the back of most mid-range Android phones. It’s no surprise, then, that the Nord 2T has a 50MP main camera, along with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP monochrome sensors (presumably for depth) to provide additional photographic options. The front camera will use a hole in the screen through which the 32 MP sensor can capture images.
This is the same layout as the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, so expect performance and camera capabilities to be similar to the previous model.
battery and charging
An interesting feature for the new phone is a 4,500mAh battery and support for 80W SuperVooc fast charging, which is the same speed as on the OnePlus 10 Pro. Not being a flagship, it won’t have the 150W SuperVooc charging that sister company Oppo announced at MWC 2022.
