Although it was not exactly kept secret, the X8 Ultra Oppo camera phone is ultimately official, but there is a problem.
Replace yourself for a few weeks at the MWC 2025, and after the Speech at the Oppo IA summit, I was taken with a selection of peers in a meeting room at the hotel for a briefing top secret.
There were applause and cheers because it was revealed that we were about to discover (involuntary game) on the Find X8 ultra long -awaited, the next flagship phone of Oppo, which the company boasts as “Everest” and “The Ultimate Camera phone”.
I thought, Register me. But the following announcement was a free kick because the spokesperson for Oppo announced that the Plan for Research X8 Ultra is an exclusive launch for the Chinese market.

Although I hoped that it could change between the briefing and today, I made it confirm that it is always the launch plan.
It is disappointing after the news that the N5 research, the superb foldable phone of Oppo, did not receive a launch in the United Kingdom – despite a press event based in London.
Find N5 apart, he is still emptying because, of course, we want to put him in head with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, especially since he will appeal in a different way.
All camera technology in a “normal” handset?
In a word, Oppo seems to have wrapped similar quantities of impressive camera technology that the 15 ultra, but without the disadvantages, many potential buyers are faced – a division design and a large phone that made a large phone to transport.
Oppo gave us a decent practical time with the Find X8 Ultra and I can confirm that it is the most normal and most felt “ultra” phone that I saw.
If you want all fancy camera technology, but in a much more regular handset with a subtle style, the Find X8 Ultra was a front runner.
Oppo calls it “the thinnest camera phone” because the design is only 8.78 mm and I can confirm that it is very light and thin in the hand.

A common problem with high -end camera phones is the huge camera bump, which makes them very heavy and clumsy in the pockets, but Oppo has managed to keep things slender on X8 Ultra search.

Those who love a palette of simple colors will rejoice in the fact that the X8 Ultra search comes only in black and white options – although I also saw a disclosed rendering of a pale pink color.
It's a little too simple for my personal taste and it is a shame that Oppo did not keep an option like the blue Blue Blue Two Tone Find X7 Ultra (below) with its return in ecological leather, exactly the phone style for which I am a suctioner.
Trap
However, the first ultra and well -made bonus X8 and it also has IP68 / 69 notes. However, the most important thing for me was that I felt that I could simply slip it into my pocket without problem, which cannot be said for many rivals.
Is photography technology compromised?
You might think that the thin search profile X8 Ultra means that it cannot correspond to the tastes of the Xiaomi or the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with regard to the prowess of photography – but that does not seem to be the case.
The master camera system of the new generation of Hasselblad includes an equivalent LYT-900 sensor of 50 MP, 23 mm, 1 inch, an f / 1.8 opening with S -IS and a personalized 1G7P lens-and it is only the main camera.

This is joined by an ultra-large camera of 50 MP and two 50 Mp periscope cameras offering 3x and 6x optical zoom levels. In addition, a 32 MP front camera gives you a total of five cameras with which playing.
Oppo has also made various software improvements, with a master -update mode with a maximum gross output, a more powerful Ai telescope zoom, a new generation hyperton image engine and much more.
There is also a new fast button sensitive to pressure on the side similar to the button on the iPhone 16 camera to facilitate shooting. You can quickly capture photos with it as little as 0.4 seconds, depending on the company.

Of course, with only a short period of time to play with the phone, I cannot make assured comments on the quality here, but it looks very promising and we know that the search X7 Ultra was at least.
It's just a shame that it will not come here, unless …
A glimmer of hope?
Although Oppo has confirmed that the Plan for Research X8 Ultra is to launch it only in China, a declaration that I received provides a positive note.
“However, many innovative technologies presented in this device will be integrated into future OPPO products, which will be made available in more regions around the world,” said Oppo.
Thus, the X8 ultra research can be with us in mind, as parts of another handset in the future – I hope the cameras.
I prefer to have the ultra, but we will have to be satisfied with the Oppo Find X8 and find X8 Pro, I suppose.
