First of all, we have to say that overdose is a dangerous practice, which can damage the organism and leave it inactive and, in some cases, you are not covered by the warranty. We therefore warn you of the danger and urge you to decide under your obligation.
Experimental nature and method
For performance testing and over-testing, we will use the following Hardware:
- Intel Core i7-8700K.
- MSI Z370 Gaming M5.
- 4x8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4 3600 MHz.
- The Corsair RM1000i.
Graphic card to use for experiments a EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 XC Gaming 8 GB, which represents the best performance we can have of a high-end gaming PC so that we can fully play with 4K resolution without too much hassle.
The software that we will use to override this graphics card is the product, the EVGA Precission X1.
RTX 2080 overclocks
The purpose of the overuls we will use for this performance comparison is the middle distance, where any user in your home can enter without risking a graphics card too much (no one wants to spoil an 800-euro photo, right?) And without reaching further levels, we leave that in -overulsers professionals. What we want to show you which you can find in your own homes without much effort.
This is the result after many Overclock experiments: we were able to increase the operating frequency by 150 MHz, only by increasing the Power Target by 5% and without affecting the voltage, which was the goal. As soon as we affect the memory speed or try to mount more OC on the GPU, the system becomes unstable, so we have to settle for these calculations. The increase in speed with overbars has changed to 9.90%, not bad at all.
Functional evaluation of the out-and-out graph performance
To measure performance, what we've done is to use one of the most popular benchmarks that best describes graphics card performance: 3DMark Time Spy. This is a result obtained from the specified bench by graph that operates with its normal parameters.
And this was a result of the overuse used in the graphics card.
As you can see, we raised a total of 414 points off the bench, which is a yield increase by 4.24%.
Game performance test
Let's take a look now at what functionality is offered by overlaying a graphics card in other games, to see for now the reality of whether it is worth doing this extreme which is, as you know, "pushing the machine".
Performance testing has been done with high resolution image resolution and 3440 x 1440 resolution (so don't be alarmed if you see that the performance is lower than what you found in other views when you rated it in full HD resolution). Details shown are the average SPF.
In this case the improvement is calculated between 2.2% in GTA V and 15.1% outstanding in Warfield 1, something that makes sense because when the FPS gets too high, it gets better when we put the graph on top.
Now the question is: if you have an RTX 2080, do you need to replace it more? The answer is no, because it is a graphics card today used for any modern game. Now, if all you need is to play in a 4K solution fully and you don't want to spend expensive graphics card, then eliminating the drawings themselves would be a good option for you.
