Google added some new powerful new tools to Google Photos, including certain AI features which were once exclusive to the Pixel 9 series.
Google photos is now ten years old and has accumulated 1.5 billion users. To mark the occasion, Google has published an update containing some new practical user interface tools, all wrapped in a new intuitive user interface.
One of these new features is a new publisher which combines intuitive suggestions fed by AI with all the necessary editing tools, and brings them all in one place.
These AI suggestions allow you to combine several publishing solutions simultaneously for rapid modifications. You can also press a specific part of an image and receive localized editing suggestions.
Pixel 9 features to come on Android
Having made his debut in Magic Editor for the Google Pixel 9 series, Auto Frame and Reimagine will now start to move to the wider Android ecosystem.
The first uses AI to automatically frame the subject in your image, even generating more background if necessary. The latter allows you to replace a section of a photo with almost everything you may think about using natural language requests.
Google says that this new Google Photos editor will start to deploy on Android devices next month, with iOS after a little later this year.
QR album codes and more
Another new addition, which takes place now, is the possibility of generating QR codes for the sharing of albums. These can be shared directly from your device or print for quick and easy access.
Google’s announcement also contains a range of tips to get the most out of the new Google Photos application. These include advice on how to review the places you have been, looking for images on an intuitive card according to geolocation data.
We also recall that you can use natural language to search for specific photos (example used: “Me in a brilliant blue dress”), take advantage of monthly or annual summary, and more.
