Jack Reacher seems to have become a real star on Amazon’s streaming platform. After the release of the second season, the series about the retired military police officer became the most watched title on Prime Video.
Considering the popularity of the series and the number of books Lee Child has written, we can be sure that the ex-military man will be with us for a long time.
The third season is already on the horizon, and we are gathering all the information about its plot, cast and premiere date.
When will Reacher season 3 be released?
Reacher is undoubtedly one of Amazon’s flagship series. No wonder it was renewed for season 3 in December 2023 – before season 2 even ended.
However, the release date of the new episodes remains unknown.
As Alan Ritchson himself revealed, the film crew is already on set and working hard on Reacher’s new adventures:
Based on previous installments, we estimate that the third season of Reacher could appear early 2025.
What will Reacher season 3 be about?
Season 1 was based on Lee Child’s debut novel, Killing Floor. It was the first of 28 books currently available in the Jack Reacher series.
However, Amazon decided that the second season of the series would cover the events of volume 11, titled Bad Luck and Trouble, instead of volume 2. Jumping 10 books in advance is an unusual decision, but presumably, it did not It was never intended to make each book a season in itself.
According to Amazon, the third season of Reacher will be based on the Persuade, the 7th volume in the Lee Child series.
The story begins with an attempted kidnapping that Jack witnesses. He intervenes and, as usual, finds himself involved in a complicated crim inal case.
In Boston, Reacher meets a man he believes to be long dead. Francis Xavier Quinn was once a military intelligence officer, but after trying to sell America’s strategic plans to Iraq, he was declared a traitor.
Despite being shot several times, he managed to recover and got into another shady activity. Reacher decides to settle old scores with Quinn.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Alan Ritchson revealed that the new episodes will see Reacher in a completely new location and under new circumstances:
And we can enjoy Reacher in a new world. It might not have anything to do with his family, with his past, he’s just having this adventure and that’s kind of the direction we’ve gone in and it really seems to work.
Which actors are confirmed for season 3 of Reacher?
The formula of Lee Child’s books is that Jack Reacher is constantly traveling, visiting new places and meeting new people. Because of this, of the entire Season 1 cast, only Alan Ritchson as Reacher, Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, and Malcolm Goodwin as Oscar Finlay returned for Season 2.
Amazon hasn’t revealed much information about the cast of season 3. However, it is confirmed that Alan Ritchson will return as Jack Reacher, and Maria Sten will reprise her role as Frances Neagley.

In the US and UK, you can stream Reacher on Prime Video. A standalone video subscription costs $8.99/£5.99 per month with a 30-day free trial.
