We all know that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be an incredibly thin smartphone, but there could be something more impressive in its thin shape factor.
Samsung has teased the launch of a thinner Galaxy S25 model during its big event unpacked in January with the S25 Ultra and other models, but according to Leaker Ice Universe, we are missing something else.
“S25 Edge is lighter than S25,” said the reliable Tipster on a recent post X (formerly Twitter).
Why it's such a big news
The “lean telephone is also light” may not look like a particularly surprising statement, but simply consider the context for a second.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 edge is plunged to have a large display, which probably places it in the region from 6.7 to 6.8 inch. Despite this large footprint, the Galaxy S25 Edge is said to be lighter here than a phone with a small 6.2 -inch display.
Not only that, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 is one of the thinnest flagship phones on the market at the moment at only 162g. I used the phone a little in recent weeks, and although its design is a little even, its lightness certainly stands out from the crowd.
Those who find modern and heavy modern phones could find the advantage as a real boon.
Samsung
What do we expect from the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge?
Although it is extremely light and of course lean (potentially only 6.4 mm thick), the Samsung Galaxy S25 edge should pack impressive specifications.
We hear that the phone will have a main 200 Mp camera, much like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This could be supported by an ultra-large of 50 MP, but probably no telephoto lens.
There should not be any compromise on energy, with the Snapdragon 8 elite found in the rest of the Galaxy S25 range coming by the edge.
Do not expect phenomenal endurance, however. The reports suggest that the battery could have a capacity of only 3900mAh, which would be below the Galaxy S25.
Recent rumors suggest that we will see the Galaxy S25 Edge for a while in the second quarter of the year, so potentially in April. Stay listening for more while we hear it.
