As you know, when the new consoles have been presented, Sony and Microsoft thought that their own would be that we could extend the capacity of each with units as quickly as those that install the origin, so that they serve us not only to store more games, but to execute them from there. What happens that PS5 opted for standard M.22 units and Xbox X series | S They did it for an alternative and owner Dizque connector.
Those Extension drive He officially launched them, although we then have other alternatives from different brands that will serve us in the same way. And so far, we had the possibility of buying units in three different alternatives: the lowest with 512 GB, the intermediary with 1 TB and the highest with 2 TB. But of course, the generation progresses and more space is necessary therefore Seagate He decided to sell (it is not yet) a model that doubles the largest current. So we reach the top of 4 TB, for the moment.
4 TB extension reader seen and not seen
The fact is that this Extension drive of 4 TB is obvious that he does not give to keep all the games Xbox game pass (Calculate about 475 games at an average of … 35 GB?) But it is an exaggeration that emphasizes how far we can store everything in our current consoles and the impossibility of maintaining this active digital catalog over the years. With the danger that results from disconnection and abandonment by Microsoft And that we end up not having access to our purchases.
The fact is that this Extension drive Seagate of 4 TBs was turned off on the Best Buy page in the United States, but in a few minutes, it disappeared, it is obvious that someone put the leg and that it was not the moment when this device was always seen. Especially if we take into account the price to which they put it and it is completely prohibitive and the reason why the PS5 storage extension system is better than in the Xbox X | s.
This andXPANSE DRIVE of Seagate appeared in the store at a price of $ 430That is to say that the application of change to our currency, we are talking about a storage unit of 450 dollars or more. So you must have a lot of need for free space in your console, and many Xbox Series X Blanca of 2 TB and you therefore have another machine to put it in the kitchen if you want.
The same amount of storage in PS5 It's always facing, but not as much as that Extension drive from Seagate. An SSD for the Sony machine, with 4 to storage, can now cost you about 320-340 dollars, a minimum of 100 less. It therefore seems clear that what was presented in 2020 as an advance and an ingenious solution, only increased the free space of our Xbox.
