Our Verdict
If you've ever wondered what it's like to have a cleaner at your fingertips (or just a click away), you'll find out with the Pro 2-in-1. Not only does it vacuum, clean and fill like its predecessor, but it also empties dirty water and also washes and dries its mop pad, ready for its next cleaning. But, despite its smart Edge Detect technology, it didn't reach food or dirt hidden in corners.

Launching in September 2024, the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro 2-in-1 is the brand's newest, chicest and most maintenance-free robot vacuum, as it does all the cleaning, vacuuming and tidying up after itself -yourself, so you don't have to do it. has.
Along with two other robot vacuums in the PowerDetect NeverTouch line, it's a step up from the 2-in-1 Self-Empty and Self-Charging Robot Vacuum and Mop and a giant step forward from compared to the self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner.
Its USP? The fact that once you have this gadget set up, little hands-on maintenance is required. It will deposit debris and dirty water into its main unit, keep everything smelling fresh with its anti-odor washer, and also wash and dry the antibacterial mop pad, ready for the next pass.
After four weeks of testing the Pro 2-in-1, the intelligent robot lived up to many of its claims. It keeps water fresh for up to 30 days, avoids objects when cleaning, and its NeverStuck technology means – you guessed it – it never gets stuck.
That said, there have been some challenges. Its Edge Detect didn't suck up all the debris from corners, while its Wet Edge Detect couldn't clean as far into crevices. Additionally, identifying “needs to clean” areas with the spot cleaning feature was a bit tricky.

Design and build
- Robust and aesthetic design
- Weighs 11.85 kg
- Dimensions: 44.6 (H) x 47.7 (W) x 36.4 cm (D)
First of all, the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro 2-in-1 is not an eyesore. Shark places a lot of emphasis on the aesthetic appeal of its technology. Of course, when you're spending just under £800/$1,000 on a gadget, you want it to do everything it says on the box (and more).
But a house is often a reflection of its inhabitants. And luckily, Shark knows this, so the matte black and silver vacuum, along with its base, look and feel well-made.
The robot vacuum measures a reasonable 34cm wide, and with a height of 7cm it seems easy to drift under low furniture.
The dock, however, is quite tall and bulky at 17.5 inches high and 18.7 inches wide. Unlike the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch 2-in-1, the Pro has a slightly different main unit as it comes with two separate tanks: one for 1.7L of fresh water and the other for storing dirty gunk from tampons. mop. These are located at the top of the base unit.

Towards the right rear you'll find the nifty bagless base, which traps up to 99.9% of dust, allergens and irritants, and any debris won't need to be emptied for 60 days . The nicely scented odor neutralizing cartridge sits under the flap at the top and snaps into place easily.

The robot features intelligent 360° LiDAR vision that helps map your home and avoid objects. Underneath the robot you will find the cylindrical anti-hair vacuum which can be removed for cleaning, a mop pad, which is in the base but attaches when the vacuum is ready to clean, and a side brush, which sweeps dirt into the path of the vacuum cleaner.

Like most other robot vacuums, the Pro comes with convenient, easy-to-use controls. These will allow you to send it home, with a mop or vacuum cleaner.

Performance and Features
- Easy to set up
- 5 deep cleaning technologies
- Won't get stuck
Once you've downloaded the SharkClean app and named your vacuum, it's time to let your robot explore your space. In just a few minutes you will have a map of your home.
For testing purposes, I let him explore my downstairs, which has mostly hardwood floors, a small patch of gray low-pile carpet, and a few doormats. It glided easily over any surface, sensing the change underneath and lifting itself accordingly.
The good thing is that you can set no-go areas and you can also divide your house into different rooms and set a cleaning schedule as well, on different dates, times and certain days. You'll also receive a “Cleaning Report” on the areas the vacuum has cleaned or vacuumed, so you can stay on top of your cleaning.

The Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro 2-in-1 comes with five deep cleaning technologies. In addition to the Floor Detect, which automatically adjusts the suction power after detecting the type of floor it is on, it is also equipped with the Dirt Detect, which – as the name suggests – will detect dirt and increase its Powerful suction to ensure the grime is gone.
Instead of spreading dirt across the surface, the stains disappear every time.
The third step is Edge Detect. This technology uses blasts of air to force debris out of their hiding places and into the robot's trash can.
While the vacuum worked overtime to get rid of the crumbs hidden in the corners of the kitchen and used its side brush to sweep up the dirt in its path, at the end of the cleaning there were still unwanted spots on the edge of the kitchen. path. To make sure they were gone, I had to either manually sweep them into the robot's path or pick them up by hand.
The Pro also has a smart spot mode that increases the length of time it cleans a messy area. This feature has been tested multiple times on a small sauce spill, coffee stain, and wet mud splatter. A recipe for disaster, right? Fake. Instead of spreading dirt across the surface, the stains disappeared every time.
And best of all, you won't even have to worry about cleaning. Once the task is completed, it is returned to base to self-clean and dry the antimicrobial pad, ready for the next pass.
After 30 days of use, the pad still looked like new. And, after peeking into the dirty tank, it was surprising how much dirt, bacteria and spills the piece of kit had sucked up and stored.

That said, just be careful not to leave a stain in a corner. Although the gadget's Wet Edge Detect extends the mop pad to reach crevices, it didn't reach the corners of my house.
Another flaw was the “Spot” cleaning function. On the app, you can hover over the area you want to clean, but you cannot zoom in on that area. On one occasion, when I was asked to vacuum a certain spot, the “area” wasn't big enough to cover everything, so I had to wait for it to return to base so I could adjust it twice. times to clean stains. I also had trouble identifying which area needed to be cleaned, forcing me to cancel the job and restart it.
Pricing and availability
In the UK, the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro 2-in-1 is available from a number of retailers, including John Lewis, Currys and directly from Shark itself, priced at £799.99. At the time of writing, there are no offers on it, but we expect its price to drop over the next few months – perhaps as soon as the January sales.
In the United States, its MSRP is $999.99, but it's already marked down to $699.99 at Amazon, Shark, and Best Buy.
There is no doubt that this is an expensive product, but compared to competing models from other brands with a similar feature set, it represents good value for money, especially if you buy it on promotion.
You can see how it compares to its competitors in our roundup of the best robot vacuums we've tested. And if you like the look of the Pro model, but don't think you'll need all the features, you can browse Shark's more budget-friendly models on its website.
Should you buy the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro 2-in-1?
The Shark PowerDetect Never Touch Pro 2-in-1 excels in many areas – and I don't say that lightly.
If you're looking for a low-maintenance robot vacuum that won't get stuck and will clean your floors morning, noon, or night, this technology is more than happy to meet the challenge. The clue really lies in the name NeverTouch.
Additionally, this robot worked equally well on parquet floors and carpets. And despite leaving dirty water and debris in the hub, the fresh-smelling anti-odor cartridge meant it didn't give off a stink.
Just keep in mind that you will You should familiarize yourself with the fairly basic design of the SharkClean app, which can allow you to identify where you want to “spot” clean in a guessing game.
And that the robot vacuum won't necessarily sweep or mop every crevice in your home. That said, it is undeniable that your floors will looks much better than before your Shark started.
