We already have our first look at Star Wars: Visions, which includes concept illustrations of some familiar faces, as well as interviews with the team. Find out below:
What is the plot of Star Wars: Visions?
Star Wars: Visions will be an anthology series, and each episode will have its own story arc and characters. This allowed the creators of the anime to explore the Star Wars universe without the shackles of an ongoing storyline.
In addition, each short film will have a completely unique artistic style, with an episode almost entirely in black and white.
Here are the names of each movie, and which studio produced them:
- Kamikaze Douga – The Duel
- Geno Studio (Twin Engine) – Lop y Ochō
- Studio Colorido (Twin Engine) – Rapsodia by Tatooine
- Trigger – The Twins and the Old Man
- Kinema Citrus – The People’s Bride
- Science Saru – Akakiri and T0-B1
- Production IG – The Ninth Jedi
Some of the more interesting new items on the list are a chibi-style rock opera on the franchise, an episode about twins born to the dark side (parallels Luke and Leia), and an Astro Boy-inspired short. One of the episodes will also tie into the upcoming official Star Wars novel, Ronin.
We can say that this is a Star Wars as we have never seen it before.
Who are the cast and crew of Star Wars: Visions?
Seven confirmed studios are working on short films: Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio (Twin Engine), Studio Colorful (Twin Engine), Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru and Production IG. All sheet music is original and the music for The Ninth Jedi was recorded at Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall.
The series will be produced by Justin Leach, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Kanako Shirasaki and James Waugh. As these are animated shorts, voice acting will be on the casting agenda, although names have yet to be confirmed.
We’ve seen other anime collections popping up in recent years, with the 2019 Netflix series Love, Death & Robots bringing together a wide variety of stories and sets in a great 18-episode series that could be a model for Star Wars. : Visions. .
Of course, the new series joins other animated and live-action offerings on Disney Plus. Among them is Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which follows a group of supersoldiers who made their debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and who now make a living as mercenaries who take on missions that are too dangerous or difficult for all. other.
There are other upcoming shows and movies as well, like A Droid Story, which will feature R2D2, C3PO and their new protégé, Rangers of the New Republic, as well as the return of Mando (and hopefully baby Yoda) in the third season. Mandalorian.
