In 2025, air fryers aren't hard to find – from oven to air fryer to one drawer, to multi-cooker options. But I can wholeheartedly say that the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill EY905D40 is one of the best air fryers on the market, so you might want to seriously consider it for a place in your kitchen.
Made by kitchenware giant Tefal, you're in safe hands with this kitchen kit. Founded in the 1950s, the company has been manufacturing air fryers for over 15 years. The Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer is not the latest (nor the largest) in Tefal's air fryer range. In fact, the 8.3 L appliance was the very first double drawer model from the French brand.
After two years of testing and tweaking, the Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer & Grill finally hit shelves in 2023. And since then, the heavy-duty kit – which promises to cook food 40% faster than an oven conventional, as well as saving up to 70% of the energy you would use cooking in the oven – has become the talk of the town, with Jamie Oliver putting it to the test on his Channel 4 show, Jamie's Air Fryer Meal. So, to see what it's all about, I tested it for four weeks. Here's what I found.
Design and build
- Temperature range from 40 to 200°C
- 8 cooking modes
- Easy-to-use digital display
After unboxing this kitchen gadget and freeing up enough space on your kitchen counter, it's hard not to love the unpretentious, inoffensive and smart design of the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer and Grill.
At 7.8kg, it's not the heaviest air fryer, which is handy to know if you intend to store it in a cabinet after each use. But that doesn't mean it feels flimsy. As is the case with most larger or double drawer air fryers, like the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer or the ProCook Air Fryer Healthy Grill, this kit will take up considerable space on your countertop. It measures 41.8 cm deep and 40 cm wide.
Two design features set this air fryer apart
Design-wise, its exterior panels are made from durable, rust- and scratch-resistant stainless steel, so this dual-zone air fryer is built to last. But for added peace of mind, you might be happy to know that it comes with a two-year warranty.
Aside, two design features set this air fryer apart. The first is its drawers of different sizes, 5.2L and 3.2L – collectively, enough space to feed up to eight people. Asymmetrical baskets allow you to cook larger foods, like a whole chicken in the largest drawer or large quantities of a side dish like fries.

Meanwhile, the second drawer gives you the option of cooking smaller side dishes or meals for one.

And while the design of the air fryer looks great, it's important to note that the baskets don't have a viewing window. So, unlike some models or a traditional oven, you will not be able to check the cooking of your food inside without opening a drawer.
The second feature is its ability to grill food in its first basket, thanks to the “Grill” cooking mode and the removable pressure cast iron cooking plate. So if, like me, you're a fan of grilling, this air fryer gives you the opportunity to enjoy the taste of cooking directly on a heated wire rack – with 98% less smoke than a traditional fryer. grill.
The Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air fryer and grill has eight preset cooking programs that take all the guesswork out of preparing dinner. These include French fries, chicken, vegetables, fish, dessert, dehydration, manual and grill mode. However, the time and temperature are adjustable for each cooking setting (within the limit of the cooking type).

As is the case with most dual-zone air fryers, Tefal's fryer and grill feature a “Sync” feature, which allows you to run two separate cooking programs at once, but guarantees that they will finish at the same time. This way everything can be prepared at once and nothing gets cold.
Performance and Features
- Powerful, with 2,700 W of cooking power
- The fries program comes with a “shake” reminder
- Grill function
- Near-silent operation
At 2,700W, the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer and Grill comes with plenty of power. For this reason, I thought it would be noisy. But even with both baskets operating, it's only 62 dB, which is equivalent to the noise of a normal conversation.
Of course, one of the main reasons people buy air fryers is that they are much more affordable to use than the average stove. So you'll need to keep in mind that its high power means that this Tefal appliance will be more expensive to run than lower-powered air fryer models if you use both baskets at once. But you will still save money overall.
Tefal claims that this all-purpose product will not only save on dishes (the baskets and grill plate are dishwasher safe) but that it cooks food 40% faster than a conventional oven. And I can well believe it, because while this powerful technology may be more expensive to operate than your average double-drawer air fryer, only the toasting program needs to be preheated. This way, all other programs will reach the desired cooking temperature in no time.
Every time I ran this air fryer, my food was cooked perfectly
I particularly noticed this when cooking the salmon fillets, which were cooked evenly to my liking in 9 minutes (yes, really!). Once the time was up, the skin was crispy and the fillets were flaky. Meanwhile, after receiving a reminder to “shake” my homemade fries after 15 minutes, this side dish only took 30 minutes to turn golden and fluffy. Most evenings, I cooked my carbs at the same time as I grilled fish after using the convenient “Sync” mode, which meant a full fish dinner was on my plate in 30 minutes.

Over the weeks of testing, I also cooked solo meals in the second basket, air-fried vegetables including peppers and onions and legumes, like chickpeas, and grilled sausages and chicken, which was a real treat: it leaves no stone unturned. lingering cooking odors or smoke that usually accompanies grilling.
Usually, I lower the temperature on each cooking mode to prevent food from overcooking. But this extra step was not necessary with Tefal. Every time I ran this air fryer, my food was cooked perfectly, which in my case means with a golden brown coating and crispy texture.
Another plus to this product? The name says it all: the Easy Fry is indeed easy to use. I have to admit that I read the quick start guide cover to cover to make sure I didn't miss anything. But it's really not a necessity, which is a testament to how intuitive this air fryer is.
The touchscreen interface is so simple. Simply use the touchscreen buttons to choose the program you want to use, turn on the basket number, adjust the time and temperature controls as needed and you're ready to go. Air frying really is that simple.
Pricing and availability
The Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air Fryer and Grill has an RRP of £199.99, but is now widely available for £129, making it a great buy, especially compared to other models with functionality and similar capacity.
It is available from Currys, John Lewis, Argos and directly from Tefal. If you want to see more recommendations, you can compare it to other models in our roundup of the best double drawer air fryers we've tested.
We also have recommendations for the best Ninja air fryers, best air fryer ovens, and best air fryers in general.
Should you buy the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air fryer and grill?
I'm pretty happy with this air fryer. It looks good, cooks well and the piece de resistance is that you have the ability to grill food, something not all air fryers can do. I don't say this often, but it was hard to find any real notable flaws that would deter anyone from adding this air fryer to their cart.
The only issues to keep in mind are that you won't get a reminder to shake your food (unless you use the “fries” program). The Tefal also doesn't offer a frozen mode, so you'll need to find the best setting for cooking your treats in the freezer.
Finally, unlike a Dreo ChefMaker or Sage/Breville Smart Air Fryer, there is no viewing panel in the door. But if you can look past these design features, the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Air EY905D40 Fryer and Grill is pretty perfect.
So if you want to upgrade your air fryer from a single drawer to a double drawer, this dishwasher-safe purchase is a worthwhile option. If you like the taste of grilling without the sound of smoke, this near-silent air fryer checks 9 out of 10 boxes. And if you want the flexibility to prepare large meals and snacks solo in minutes, this air fryer air is made for you.
