The Marvel cinematographic universe enters its sixth phase, and one of the most critical films in this chapter will be Avengers: Doomsday. During a livestream of almost five and a half hours, Marvel announced the distribution of blockbuster – and there was no shortage of real surprises.
The new film will showcase Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Danny Ramirez (The Falcon), Winston Duke (M'baku) Hiddleston (Loki).
They will be supported by Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), David Harbor (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (American agent), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost) and Lewis Pullman (person called Bob). The film will also feature mutants: Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Channing Tatum (Gambit), Kelsey Grammer (Beast) and Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler).
Marvel also decided to include the Fantastic Four in the programming, namely Pedro Pascal (M. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (The Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (The Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing).
In 2024, Marvel revealed that the new Supervillain, Dr. Doom, will be played by Robert Downey Jr., who previously played the role of Iron Man, alias Tony Stark.
Doomsday will be the fifth episode of the Avengers saga, following the avengers which are widely discussed: end of the 2019 game. The recipe for success, which Marvel needs an emergency after several flops, will be to give the public familiar and freshness and something fresh. In the casting of the doomsday, MCU veterans are strategically mixed with new arrivals.
However, given the previous range of Avengers, the list has some absences that could sprinkle you. Here are the greatest missing characters.

Mark Ruffalo like Hulk
Considering for the last time in She-Hulk: lawyer in law
Status: Living
After surviving the big battle in Avengers: Endgame, Dr. Bruce Banner at the good heart decided to take care of his more violent alter ego. As he explained to his cousin Jennifer Walters alias She-Hulk in his autonomous series, he experienced the fusion of his two personalities. Consequently, he created a Hulk inhibitor system to let him control his transformations – since then, he appeared as an intelligent Hulk, a human banner hybrid and the Great Green.
Bruce arrived at the family dinner at the end of She-Hulk, presenting his Skaar son. The boy was born on the planet Sakaar, where Hulk fought as a gladiator in Thor: Ragnarok. In the comics, her mother was the Warrior Caiaa the Oldstrong, but she has not yet been mentioned in the MCU. Perhaps Bruce Banner will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday because he is busy with family questions-Hulk may have returned to Sakaar to take care of his son. Therefore, it seems that we will not see the Hulk before Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.
Tom Holland as Spider-Man
Given for the last time in Spider-Man: no time at home
Status: Living
The latest film Spider-Man ended on a sour note, with Peter Parker erased from the memories of everyone by the fate of Doctor Strange, who was thrown to restore order in the Multiverse. Two weeks later, he approached MJ to reintroduce himself as promised, but changed his mind after seeing him safe and happy.
In the end, Peter obtained a new Spider-Man costume and returned to the activity of the vigilante. Why he will not be in Avengers: Doomsday is a mystery-maybe he will be explained in Spider-Man 4, which will arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026.

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel
Seen for the last time in the wonders
Status: Slive
After restoring the planet Hala, the world of Kree Home, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel returned to Earth. She moved to Monica Rambeau's house because her previous owner had been trained in another dimension. We do not know why Carol does not appear in the distribution of Avengers: Doomsday – as one of the most powerful superheroes residing on earth, it would be a natural ally in the fight against the new Supervillain.
Whatever the reason in the universe, the absence of the captain probably has to do with the disastrous reception of wonders. Kevin Feige may want Carol Danvers to remain in the shadows so as not to ride fans disappointed by the film, which was led by three female superheroes.
Chris Evans as Captain America
Last view in Avengers: end of game
Status: Living
Steve Rogers was a key figure in the previous phases of the MCU and always had full hands. When he retired after defeating Thanos, it was an ideal end to his scenario. In The Avengers: Final endgame, Steve decided to return to the 1940s and spend his life with Peggy Carter. Nowadays, he appeared as an older man and presented the captain's American name and the vibranium shield in Sam Wilson, his successor.
For a while, there were rumors that Steve Rogers would appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but the details were vague. The latest spot teasing the film reveals that the cast does not include Chris Evans – fortunately, it seems that Marvel will not come out Steve from his well -deserved retirement.

Elizabeth Olsen as a scarlet witch
Seen for the Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness
Status: deceased
After the events that made the chronicle of the Wandavision series, the former Wanda Maximoff Aka Scarlet Witch used black magic to find his lost children, Billy and Tommy. His actions caused chaos in the multiverse, leading to a battle with Stephen Strange and his allies in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness.
In the end, Wanda was defeated and suffered death, and that is why she is not back in the MCU. Well, at least it is not back at the moment – it is a multiverse, and honestly, they can resuscitate whoever they want, when they wish.
Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange
Seen for the Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness
Status: Living
Scarlet Witch's shenanigans involving magic books and multi -voting trips have had a considerable impact Stephen Strange. After using The Darkhold, a collection of evil spells, to own his deceased counterpart in another reality, he is blessed (or cursed) with the third eye. Some time later, Doctor Strange was approached by the Clea Sorceress. The mysterious woman persuaded him to enter the dark dimension and to repair what he destroyed by fighting Wanda.
Being in an alternative universe could be a good excuse not to introduce himself to war with Dr. Doom. The absence of a Strange will probably be explained in the next film featuring him: Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel studios
Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow
Seen last in Black Widow
Status: deceased
The Arc de Natasha Romanoff ended in Avengers: Endgame. The ex-Assassin and Avenger, known as Black Widow, sacrificed themselves so that Hawkeye could obtain one of the infinite stones of the Red Skull. Later, Marvel decided to give Natasha an autonomous film. Black Widow was however a prequel, and that did not affect the ultimate death of the superhero in any way. Like the scarlet witch, Natasha Romanoff is dead – at least, for the moment (multiverse, do you remember?).
Don Cheadle as a war machine
Seen for the last time in a secret invasion
Status: Living
James “Rhodey” Rhodes, known as War Machine, had trouble after the defeat of Thanos. At one point, he was kidnapped by General de Skrull Gravik, who replaced him with his fit agent, Raava. Finally, Rhodey was rescued by G'iah, the daughter of Talos, a skrull who was the ally of Nick Fury.
What happened to War Machine after the events of Secret Invasion and why it is not in Avengers: Doomsday is unknown – apparently, the superhero will only appear when the MCU series, Armor Wars, scheduled for 2026.

Jeremy Renner like Hawkeye
Seen for the last time in Hawkeye
Status: Living
After surviving war with Thanos, Clint Barton alias Hawkeye clearly decided to devote himself to family life. In the Disney mini-series entitled Hawkeye, the archer was however forced to confront his dark past, which he did with the help of his young protégé, Kate Bishop. In the end, Clint returned to his wife and children – and probably decided to wait for the fight with Dr. Doom with them.
Samuel L. Jackson like Nick Fury
Seen for the last time in the wonders
Status: Living
Nick Fury may not be a superhero in itself, but he has the charisma and the will of a hundred of them. He appeared in all the Avengers films and in many other MCU tickets, so his absence in Avengers: Doomsday is a huge surprise. However, supervision of superheroes and earth safety surveillance have finally become exhausting for Nick.
It is not surprising that after a secret invasion, he decided to settle alone on the saber saber saber, where he returned after the events of the wonders. Apparently he will stay there during the fight with Dr. Doom.
