As per usual, epic games has once again put more free games on its platform, and this time it’s the turn of BioShock: The Collection, which, as the name suggests, is a collection of games from the legendary BioShock saga that includes BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, and BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition. We explain below how to get free these games and what PC you need to be able to run them properly.
BioShock: The Collection was originally released in 2016, but the games are actually several years old. The first title was released in 2007, while its sequel was released in 2010. Later in 2013, the third part was released as Bioshock Infinite
How to get BioShock: The Collection for free
As usual, you will need to be registered with Epic Games and access the Epic Store. If you have already installed its launcher you will only have to access the store and you will see that it appears in the free games section, but if you do not have it you can also access it on the web at this link.
To permanently add these games to your digital library on the platform, all you have to do is go through the purchase process as you normally would with any game, but the difference is that you’ll automatically get a discount. 100% and you will pay literally 0 Euros, so it will be totally free.
Once the “purchase” is complete, BioShock: The Collection will appear in your game library and you can install and play it. Of course, it won’t appear as “BioShock: The Collection” but in your library the three games will appear individually, allowing you to choose which one you want to install on your computer and which one you don’t.
What PC will you need to play?
As we mentioned before, even the remastered versions of these games are already six years old, so you don’t really need an overly powerful PC to play them to the fullest.
For the minimum and recommended requirements, we will take the most demanding of them, which is BioShock Infinite, released as we mentioned earlier in 2013. The developer says that we will need an operating system Windows 7 64 bit to play, and among the recommended requirements (which are nothing more than playing at full 1080p and 60 FPS) requires a quad-core processor (they don’t give examples or indicate which one), 4 GB of RAM , 30 GB of available disk space and graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6950 or a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560.
As you can see, you don’t need a state-of-the-art gaming PC to fully enjoy this great saga of 2K gaming, and in fact, with a mid-range gaming PC d six years ago, it will work without any problems.
On the other hand, if you are wondering if these games will run on a laptop with an integrated graphics card, the answer is yes, although it is true that depending on the generation of the laptop and the iGPU it incorporates, you may need to lower the resolution or graphics settings to be able to have a good FPS rate.
