Samsung has just announced the Galaxy S25 Edge, and it may have just spent the end of the Smartphone Plus series as we know it.
According to a new report from the South Korean website The Elec, the Samsung Galaxy S26 EDGE next year could arrive earlier in the year as part of the wider Galaxy S26 range.
This has the potential to annoy all the buyers of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, who will find their phone at £ 1,099 replaced in the eight months.
Win an advantage, losing a plus
However, this is not the biggest news to emerge from this last rumor. Apparently, the Galaxy S26 Edge would not join the existing list as much as it would replace one of the members.
It is said that the Samsung Galaxy 26+ would be abandoned in favor of Samsung's second generation lean model. The Samsung Galaxy S25 + could be the last model more than we have ever seen.
This is not the first time that we have heard rumors of a great upheaval of the S series for 2026. Towards the end of 2024, it has been said that Samsung would abandon the ordinary Samsung Galaxy S26, leaving us with the most and ultra.
It was before the edge arrived in the equation, of course, with its footprint and its more clumsy size display.

Don't cry the most
The report stresses that Samsung is waiting to see how the sales have hit the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is before it decides anyway. You must suspect that the success (or other) of Apple's next iPhone 17 Air will also play a major role in Samsung's decision.
Indeed, it was suggested before Apple could exchange its own iPhone 17 Plus for the new Super-Slim model.
Another source seems to suggest that Samsung produces four AMOLED screens for the flagship programming of next year, which suggests that Samsung opts with a four -model approach for the Galaxy S26 range. Time will tell us.
We have our own reservations on the entire lean telephone approach. Give us a small imprint with a huge battery every day.
