If we believe recent rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S26 could finally come with the upgrade of the camera we expected.
The Samsung Galaxy S range has been blocked with the same Samsung ISOCELL GN3 main camera sensor for several years now. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S25 essentially has the same camera as the Samsung Galaxy S23.
This could be ready to change with Samsung Galaxy S26 next year.
Finally, a new camera sensor
According to the Dutch website Galaxyclub, the Samsung Galaxy S26 will be delivered with a new 50 MP camera sensor.
It will be apparently always from the same series Isocell GN, but a variety updated. The absence of a specific name is logical, since it could be a brand new component that has not even been announced yet.
That's it for more details on the Samsung Galaxy S26 camera, but even these little signs of progress are welcome. We criticized the (still very good) Samsung Galaxy S25 to be “fundamentally the same as the old”, and this observation has extended to the camera system.

Our criticism has always identified “subtle improvements” of image quality, with more natural and realistic colors and improved skin tones. However, this should have improved the most competent SOC and Samsung image processing.
The move to a new improved image sensor is likely to cause a more significant improvement in image quality for the Samsung Galaxy S26, which is an exciting new.
Other Galaxy S26 specifications
We have also heard that the main camera of the Galaxy S26 could gain a variable opening, improving the two shiny shots and low light performance.
Other specifications expected from Samsung Galaxy S26 include a return to Samsung Exynos Silicon from Samsung after a happy year of pure Snapdragon 8 Elite Power.
We know that it will allow Samsung a whole bunch of money, but it also means that our American cousins receive a better and more efficient model.
