The Umbrella Academy is an adaptation of the comic book by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá and has become one of the most acclaimed superhero series. The first season of the story of superpowered siblings who try to work together despite their differences was one of Netflix’s most-watched series of 2019.
The creators of the series have confirmed that season 4 of the dysfunctional superhero tale will be the last. Find out when it will appear on Netflix and what it will be about.
Potential Umbrella Academy Season 4 Release Date
For the moment, the exact release date of the new opus in the series is unknown. However, Netflix has confirmed that season 4 will arrive in 2024.
Season 1 premiered in February 2019, season 2 in July 2020, and season 3 in June 2022. So we expect the final season could appear on Netflix in Spring/Summer 2024. It will consist of 6 episodes.
The plot of season 4 of Umbrella Academy
Netflix has not released a season 4 synopsis or descriptions of the individual episodes. What we do know is that the title of the first one is The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want, and the last one is The End of the Beginning.
The most crucial plotline of season 4 will be an alternate timeline in which the siblings are deprived of their superpowers. To make matters worse, new enemies emerge and the Hargreeves must find a way to defeat them while unraveling the mystery of this alternate universe.
In Season 4, we’ll see the aftermath of the universe reset the Hargreeves did at the end of Season 3. One of the most surprising things that appears in the new episodes is the return of Umbrella Ben, which was teased during a mid-season episode. Season 3 credits scene.
But he’s not the only one to come back from the dead. Everything indicates that we will also see Abigail again, Reginald’s wife, who died many years ago. Explaining these mysteries (and a few others) will be quite a challenge, so let’s hope the creators have planned everything really well.
