The launch of PS5 Pro and it seems like nothing happened here. We have already forgotten the console marketed at 800 dollars and which had some difficulty satisfying the most demanding with 4K quality modes at 60 frames per second. And one of those games that caused issues on the new machine is Alan wakes up 2who is still looking for his best version on the new Sony console.

PS5 Pro unlike the original PS5 models which, when they reached this position, all they could do was move 30 executives per second. Well, after a frustrating first update of Alan wakes up 2another one has arrived which, to be honest, is not very far away.
Is Alan Wake 2 being updated to downgrade things?
You probably remember when Alan wakes up 2 was updated to accommodate the PS5 Pro and Remedy announced that quality mode, with ray tracingit could only stay at a ridiculously stable 30 frames per second. Well, despite this, in the end when the console arrived it was found that there were many more problems and that achieving goals like this was also complicated in this new model. So now we assume they released a remedy (note the joke) to all these evils.
Now that the quality mode seems to have been reduced in quality (forgive the redundancy) so that it gives a better impression and for that, with the latest updatewhat they managed to do was to increase this frame rate a little to 40. According to the save since the update “a new graphics mode has been added”Balance'. This mode requires compatible displays that can reach a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Balance combines PS5 Pro Quality mode settings, including ray tracing, with Performance mode resolution. This mode aims for 40 fps.
As you can see, things seem to be getting better (irony the mode is) and it doesn't stop there, since Remedy claims to have “slightly” adjusted the performance mode settings of Alan wakes up 2 to make the frame rate more consistent. It now remains to be seen whether, in terms of consistency, it will continue to be inconsistent, but more consistent than with the original patch for PS5 Pro which arrived a few weeks ago.
Say goodbye to super resolution… if you want
But of everything the new patch brings, the worst is yet to come. And the vaunted technology of resizing from Sony, the famous PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) also seems to be a nuisance on Alan wakes up 2 and, therefore, Remedy decided to allow us to turn it off whenever we want. But wasn't it there to give that extra power and quality to games on PS5 Pro?
Every day that passes, we have the feeling that not even PS5 Pro That's what they promised us. Either that or the developers haven't yet figured out how to get the most out of their new hardware.
