If we want to monitor at any time the temperature and workload of the processor and graphics of our PC, in addition to memory consumption, fan speed, etc., in real time and without having to put the game pausing or overlaying this information on the screen, we can use a large number of applications that we can open on a second monitor. However, not everyone needs to use dual monitors.
The solution to this problem is to use a cell phone that we have been collecting dust in a drawer to turn it into a second monitor for our PC where to display only information related to resource consumption. In the Apple and Google stores we can find a large number of applications that allow us to carry out this function, although most include additional purchases to be able to use all the available functions.
But, if we look carefully (at HardZone we have done it for you), we can find an application that allows us to know the information we need from our PC, a free app which do not include any type of purchase, require no subscription and, as if that were not enough, are free of advertising. We are talking about Pitikapp.
Know the temperature of your PC’s CPU and graphics from your mobile
Pitikapp is an application available for free on both App store (requires iOS 11 or higher) from Apple as in Play store (compatible from version 5.0) of Android. This application connects to the program that we must install on our PC of the same name and that we can download from its website which we can access from here.
The only condition that must be met to be able to access the resource consumption of our PC is that both the mobile phone and the computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This app supports send the information to our mobile which collect applications such as MSI Afterburner, Core Temp, Fraps, GPU-Z, HW Monitoring and HWinfo.
If we do not have a preference for any of these applications, the solution that MSI Afterburner offers us is one of the most complete, since it allows us to know the temperature of the CPU and GPU, the usage load, the FPS count, fan speeds and much more. In addition, from the application itself we can also add the date and time, the audio track that we are playing through Spotify and the possibility of select audio output of our team.
Once we have installed MSI Afterburner, or any other application to know the resource consumption of our PC, from the main interface of Pitikapp, click on the + sign located in the upper left corner. At the top, the name of the mobile device that we are going to use to display the information to be collected should be displayed.
In our case, we have installed MSI Afterburner, so we must go to the MSI Afterburner section and click, for example, GPU Temperature. Next, we must write the name under which we want this information to be displayed and, if we want to customize the colors and the type of graph that will represent the information.
We can add as many widgets as we want taking into account that the space on the screen of our mobile is limited. As we add widgets, they display directly on the mobile. If we want to change the size of these, we go to the mobile phone and hold the widget to modify until the commands that allow us to change the size appear.
If we want to remove one of the widgets, we just have to press the button represented by a – log in to the application or hold the widget and drag it to the sign – which will be displayed on the screen. The only but of this application, besides its quite dated designis that it is only available in English, although this should not be a problem if we are used to using applications to monitor the resource consumption of our PC.
