If you just come from the latest episode of The Last of Us … My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thanks to the valley, has shown that the new budget of the season at its full potential, with an infected war swarm that rages against the Jackson sanctuary, Wyoming. However, you may have been more concerned with another explosive plot. Fans of the original game, the last part II, knew that it was going to happen … But maybe not that soon.
Major spoilers for the last season 2 below
When Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) was presented to us in episode 1, we knew that she was released for revenge, and she obtained it.
After accidentally triggered a huge group of infects, she ended up in an abandoned school. She almost mobilized for a painful moment when she was barricaded by a horde, but she was saved … by the person for whom she and her team had driven out – Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal).
She brought him back to the lodge where her team was waiting for, and together, they set an ambush to the hunter. As Ellie (Bella Ramsey) had found her location, her father's face was already beaten in a pulp, ready to be finished.
The end of Jesse and Ellie dragging Joel's body behind a horse makes his death quite final.
While Joel also died in the games, there were key differences that I took over for the show. If you are curious, keep reading.
Joel was with Dina, not Tommy
One of the greatest notable changes was that Joel patrolled Ellie Dina's flame, not his brother Tommy.
Presumably, it was so that the episode could highlight Tommy defending an attack on his city – a sequence so full of action that it shame in the long night of Game of Thrones. And of course, so that he can have this head-to-face battle with a Bloater.
Otherwise, the events are roughly the same way. When Abby shoots Joel in his leg, in the games, Tommy is knocked out by being timed around her head several times, while Dina is rather druged by an injection.

Abby's Golf Club Killing Blow was different
When I saw the golf clubs stay with casualness against the wall, I had a fairly good idea of what was going to happen. Abby's fierce attack on Joel was largely the same, but there was a key difference at the end.
Rather than delivering a final and crushing blow to the head, she stabs him in the neck. I can't really decide what is worse. My sister made me realize that this death is called online as a “Joel in One”, who – ouch.
What came after may have the most heartbreaking change.

Ellie was not knocked out
In the original story, when Abby hits Joel one last time, Ellie has trouble free herself and finally knocked out by being kicked in the head by Jordan.
Instead, director Mark Mylod decided to keep it awake while Abby and his crew rush out of the lodge.
Devastated and dazed, it crawls on Joel's body and holds it one last time. Knowing how their previous interactions were, it makes the end more tragic.
