Although there is more competition than ever, Tinder remains the most popular dating app in the world. New features are added as the company tries to expand its edge over its main rivals.
The latest announced updates focus on creating a more immersive dating experience, although face-to-face dating is again an option for many. Among them is the ability to add videos of up to 15 seconds directly to your profile.
A lot of people will appreciate this new feature, but it looks like it’s late. Until now, it has been limited to a two-second looping clip, while Hinge has allowed videos of up to 30 seconds since 2017. Tinder claims the feature was designed for Gen Z, which is apparently over 50. % of its base. . global users.
On the flip side, Tinder acknowledged that most people don’t want to go through hundreds of profiles every day without thinking. The new “Explore” section reflects this, as it aims to connect people based on their common interests.
This section isn’t limited to dating: Tinder suggests that it can be used “for a couple to explore all kinds of activities.” Some of the most prominent examples are thrill seekers and pets, but there is plenty to choose from.

The Explore tab also includes “Hot Takes,” the speed dating version of Tinder via live chat. This will allow people to chat before they meet for the first time, based on a series of questions designed to help break the ice. After the time is up, the two members must decide whether they want to continue talking or move on to the next potential partner.
Explore will join Tinder “at the end of the summer” and Hot Takes will be available daily from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. local time. No timeline has been provided for video profiles, so it may arrive sooner.
