Realme's brand has already made itself a place among the biggest phone manufacturers to find in the European market, an easy task, and with the latest announcements, the company has taken the economic toll on innumerable models.
Realme 6 is priced at an entry price of more than € 200, a collection of details and great features for the treasure to pay.
We have seen in to review of Realme 6 Pro of what kind of product is able to offer at a price of € 329, and now, Realme 6 surprises us again with a purchase price of € 100 less compared to its older brother.
Originally, a mobile is the cheapest you can get on the market with a 90 Hz screen, so if your item is a series of high-quality content downloads, you won't find much like it in this competition at this price range.
There is a Realme 6i model that we will be reviewing shortly, which does not have this update feature. You can check the main the difference between Realme 6i vs 6 vs 6 Pro in this small comparison.
If the wide range of Motorola phones in this segment of the market appear to have freed up sales in recent years, Realme could change things if it continues to bet on quality at its locations for a very good price.
90 Hz screen, but IPS not OLED
Frankly, it didn't seem possible for us to see a screen with this 90 Hz refresh rate so fast on such a cheap phone, something that by 2019 was only being introduced to models the premium, but Realme does it with Realme 6.
If this feature is new to you, you should know that as a result, you get a smartphone with a limited and waterproof shape, responsive user experience, and much better light conditions.
Within the Realme 6 configuration, it is possible to choose between 60 and 90 Hz, as well as the automatic selection so that depending on the application you are using, you get the most out of it without affecting battery usage.
The show is different in some ways, too. At 6.5 inches in size, it supports Full HD + resolution management using IPS panel technology. Well, it's not OLED, but don't be too bad with the new refresh rate.
We check that it ensures a good balance of color, brightness and sharpness of the content displayed.
Cameras
Budget smartphones usually have double or even double or triple cameras, but Rextme offers a list of 6 rear quad cameras. This is in addition to other expensive 3 or 4x flagship phones.
This is what you get:
- 64 MP primary – f / 1.8, PDAF
- 8 MP U wide angle – f / 2.3, 13mm
- 2MP Macro – f / 2.4, 22mm
- 2 vertical aperture lens – f / 2.4 (b / w)
- 16 MP selfie, f / 2.0
The main camera, which will be the one you use the most, is actually shocking at 16 MP which combines four pixels into one. However, you can choose & # 39; 64M & # 39; from the camera app to shoot at full resolution if you want.
There is little difference between the two and in rotation you will have a great photo archive, because at 64 MPs each image can take up to 20 MB per shot, so it should only be used for zoom or crop areas.
In the standard 16 MP mode, the images are more detailed, the colors are more accurate, and without excessive use of too much noise. Most major weaknesses can be caused by low light conditions, although the night mode is able to improve the results for use.
We were impressed with the image mode used by the main sensor in combination with the 2MP vertical lens. Realme says that this also improves the difference by getting deeper.
With a wide wide angle selection, the results are also great with optical colors and excellent contrast. Not the best result I've seen, but the configuration made me forget that this is a budget phone.
The biggest option is having serious side effects, in our opinion. Although it will allow you to get closer to the objects and details of the scan, the sensor only has 2 MP and there is not much detail in the image to display.
You should also try until you get the right distance, because in most cases, it will be difficult for you to find the right focal distance, which will quickly use a large signal camera.
Finally, the selfies section has a 16 MP front camera mounted on the screen itself and moved to the left, which includes HDR, night mode and beauty enhancements if you want to use it. With image mode, the effects are very different.
In the video segment, Rextme 6 can shoot at 4K and 30 fps quality, or get 60 fps at 1080p. In experiments we have confirmed how good the colors are, or in general terms, we would like to have more details of the scenes.
There is no optical image stabilization and you only get digital stability when using 1080p at 30fps. If you love photography and are planning to take lots of photos, you'll be interested in the high-end Realme 6 Pro model with a telephoto lens on the back and a wide front camera.
Working
You can swear that the Reame 6 will suffer in this area compared to its big brother Pro, but the Mediatek Helio G90T processor built here works well. In fact, as you can see in the test chart, there's not much difference with the Pro & # 39; s Snapdragon 720G chip.
For practical purposes, the only factor to consider is that you buy a phone with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage when choosing a basic configuration, compared to the Pro that comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM.
In short, Realme 6 outperforms major competitors like the Moto G8 Power, Honor 9X Pro, or Pixel 3a. In addition, it follows the rhythm of the Huawei P40 Lite itself.
Battery life
Realme 6 can be a little stiff compared to other phones, with a touch of 9 mm. However, this is due to the fact that the battery with 4,300 mAh capacity is suitable inside.
With it, the phone took an average of 7 hours and 15 minutes in our Geekbench 4 test, although used in real-world testing, it turned out that it was better than expected. Use of a 90 Hz refresh rate can also affect independence.
Generally, the battery life comes off solid and the solvent faces a day of great use without a problem. It should be noted here that Realme offers 30W fast charging with such economical model to achieve 68% charging in just 30 minutes via USB C connector.
Design
In terms of construction, we leave a comment at the end, because there is not much we can say about the difference compared to other Realme 6 Pro and 6i models. Its look is amazing back, using durable plastic material to ensure durability.
The rear lenses are extremely transparent, more so if you are going to use the terminal without a cover for reasons that its finish seems very resistant to design. Including headphone jack, fingerprint scanner on power button and much more.
Software
As we've noted when analyzing some of the firm's models, Realme still has a long way to go when it comes to optimizing the customization layer you're presenting on Android. To highlight that you can use touch in the management of the connector.
But don't expect dark display mode or any other series of settings. Fortunately, it's based on the version of Android 10, so the terminal dies with some interesting traditional functions.
In our opinion, some of the icons can be colorful and childish, which will be added to other pre-installed apps like Opera that most users will not use.
You will find the use of Hello Moto very useful where you can link actions to your phone, such as using a flashlight by moving the phone twice. We are confident that Realme is working to improve this segment.
Price and availability
Although it may seem like a mistake, you actually get a 90 Hz screen storage with a price of just € 219. The Realme 6 Available in Comet Blue or Comet White based on 4 GB of basic RAM processing and 64 GB of storage.
If there is something to indicate a brand is its broad portfolio. Under these two finishes, you can also choose the 4 GB + 128 GB model at a price of € 249; Or with 8 GB + 128 GB of storage for € 279.
The final decision
Functional connectivity is compared to lower-cost models, such as Realme 5i The analysis here is taken into account and if photography is your favorite, it will be difficult for you to find another four-camera cellphone at the same price.
It also especially highlights its display screen. Aside from not having an OLED panel (choose IPS technology), the refresh rate is 90 Hz compared to its competitors in the 60 Hz range, which will be interesting for you to watch the series.
In short, it's a good phone for what you pay for, which is why it is currently gaining recognition for our product. Recommended until another model comes out of the price list.
