Valve now sells used (and quite cheap) Steam Deck OLED

Cheap, Deck, OLED, sells, Steam, Valve

What is the best way for a company to avoid the second-hand market for its products? Well, sell it themselves. Valve He is clear about this and has been selling his used Steam Decks in his own online store for some time. The new thing is that you can now also buy the model Used Steam Deck OLEDand at a fairly attractive price.

Handheld consoles are all the rage, we all know that just by seeing how major manufacturers strive to release more and better models to the market. But one of the pioneers in this area, and of course the most successful in all areas, has been Valve with its Steam Deck, portable consoles designed to work with Steam, but which really have enough versatility to do much more than that. that. And this is of course only one of the reasons for its success.

The Steam Deck OLED, from 459 dollars

Initially, the Steam Deck was only available with an LCD screen and in versions between 64 and 512 GB of capacity, but they later updated the console with an OLED screen and some other improvements, including greater battery life battery and capacities that now reach 1TB. The fact is that for some time now you could buy refurbished Steam Decks for a little cheaper, but only the LCD models were available.

Refurbished Steam Deck Price

Since the arrival of the OLED model, Valve has been selling the LCD models for some time now, and now it appears that they are finally out of stock, even in their refurbished market. So, as you can see in the screenshot we placed above these lines, not only have they started selling the refurbished OLED model, but it's actually the only used model that we can buy.

These units, “remanufactured and certified” by Valve, have been exhaustively tested to meet the same quality standards as new models and, according to the company itself, they undergo more than 100 quality tests in their facilities before to be put up for sale. Come on, these are used or repaired devices but Valve gives us the guarantee that they will work without any problems.

The downside to this? Well, since they are used products, they only have one year of official warranty, as required by law, compared to three years for new models. The advantage? The price obviously. As you can see, the 512 GB model is sold for 459 dollars110 dollars less than the new model. Concerning the 1 TB capacity model, it is sold by 549 dollarsi.e. 130 dollars less than the new model.

By the way, in case you're wondering, Valve continues to sell the previous model, the LCD, but only in its 256 GB variant (i.e. the 64 GB and 512 GB are already sold out in stock and probably discontinued, because they don't even appear in their online store) and has a price of 419 dollars. The truth is that personally, for only 40 dollars more you have the 512 GB OLED model which is much better, even if it is reconditioned…
