It’s no secret that the European Union intends to force all devices with a built-in battery to have the ability to easily change it. However, for some time we have seen how some manufacturers have tried to sell products of which they are an inseparable part, thus causing a planned obsolescence of the book. That’s why we’re going to explain why we think replaceable batteries should be the only option on the market.
Planned obsolescence has harmful effects on the environment and this is generally associated with the battery of many products which, once they reach the end of their life, transform them into veritable dead weights which only pollute. All with the aim of creating much faster cycles of consumption in a maelstrom that has caused a huge amount of waste in the form of electronic devices. However, being able to change the battery of our has not only positive effects on the environment, but also on us.
Why should you always choose replaceable batteries?
Well, two of the answers to that we already gave you in the introduction; to avoid artificial planned obsolescence imposed by the manufacturer and to reduce the amount of waste in the world, although these are not the only reasons and it is that one of the trends of all manufacturers of consumer electronics is to save money in the parts where they don’t usually look and one of them is the rechargeable batteries that come standard with many products, which are generally of lower quality and performance than what the can be found independently.
Worst of all is that they managed to sell the bike to many of us because having replaceable batteries is bad, when we are given the option of being able to choose one of better quality, which also at the end of its life cycle will allow us to continue using the device as on the first day. In addition, it is better to have several sets of batteries at the same time, to alternate them and which together allow us to use the product for a long time.
Whether or not they affect laptop performance
In the case of laptops, the various components are designed to operate with two profiles: mains and battery. Things would be simple if the two things went hand in hand, but really the type of battery chosen affects the performance of a laptop when we haven’t plugged it in and often not with slight reductions in speed.
What kind of products are they best for?
It’s the same if we talk about the control of a console, a laptop, a wireless mouse, what we count applies to all kinds of products. Do you own a video game console that is one or two generations old? Well, you may not be able to play with it because its control battery is exhausted and there is a replacement. How about that MP3 music player where you have huge amount of songs and can’t use today? The reality is that we could enjoy it today, at full capacity and like the first day.
In a few years we will see how there will be a series of products, typical of the last decade, which cannot be recovered in the future precisely because they do not have replaceable batteries as standard. In addition, this product with built-in battery that you love so much, you will not use it in a few years, not because you have something better, but because it will have become obsolete.
