And, taking advantage of the fact that the dissipator is made of plastic, they were also able to integrate an RGB lighting system which covers 60% of the surface of the modules, so that they are not the typical RAM with an above lighting bar and it is already, but that the body of memory itself will be illuminated with its own light.
Unpacking and external analysis
The packaging of the XPG launch NEON RVB consists of a red cardboard box, on the front of which we can see an image of all the memory accompanied by the brand, the model, a sticker with its capacity and speed, and in the top of its characteristics highlighted in the form of icon. Obviously, XPG wanted to highlight the theme “echo” that we have already told you.
At the rear, we have the usual bar codes, QR which leads to the manufacturer's website and others, in addition to the cardboard windows that allow us to see the labels of the two memory modules.
Inside the external cardboard packaging, we have the typical plastic blister in which the two modules are adjusted so that they do not move during transport.
There are no accessories, not even the typical informative brochure, so you have the two XPG modules RVB launch. As you can see, its plastic dissipators have a lively money finish, with an aesthetic of the black line in which the manufacturer organized its logo and stressed that they are DDR5 and echo memories. The PCB is black.
In the previous photo, the dissipator seemed fluid, but we can get a little, we can see that he has small rhomboid protuberances which will make light blurred when activated.
On the opposite side, because we always have an identification label.

The top of the upper translucent bar to encourage the diffusion of RGB lighting. Here, the manufacturer has again organized its logo.

Aside, we can clearly see that the dissipator is divided into two halves, as is logical, and we can also appreciate his size. They are not precisely a low profile ram, although we have seen them above.
More specifically, 39.4 millimeters amount from the connector area.
See the memories, we will proceed to mount them and check how they work and what this lighting looks like.
Test the XPG throw NEON RVB
The installation has no mystery, you insert the rams in their corresponding and ready sockets.
In our case, we had climbed on the RAM PC at 8,400 MHz, so after the first ignition, we had to access the BIOS to configure its XMP profile to 6,000 MHz. Apart from that, there is nothing more to configure because everything becomes automatic. To emphasize, by the way, that these rams have an XMP and expo profile, so they are perfectly valid for Intel and AMD systems.
Then you can see how they go. The truth is that yes, 60% of RAM's dissipator is illuminated and, in fact, the little that is not illuminated is in the lower part, already near the connectors area, and obviously the part which is covered by this black plate in the center. They are aesthetically very beautiful, especially for lovers of lighting on the PC.
To test these memories, we used the usual test bench:
- Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
- Corsair Nautilus 360 Rs Argb
- Asus Rog Maximus Z890 Apex
- Teamgroup Cardea A440 PRO 2 TB PCIe 4.0
- Corsair Obsidian 4000D Airflow
- Corsair RM1000X Swift
- PNY GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
The operating system is Windows 11 Pro X64 with all the updates installed, as usual.
Performance tests
Let's start to see your performance, and for that nothing better than Aida64which will measure the performance of RAM during reading, writing, copying and its latency.
The result, to be RAM at 6,000 MHz, is very good but expected. Logically, here, faster RAMs have a larger bandwidth, but they are raw data. For example, with a few G.Skill Trident Z at 7,200 MHz, we obtained 104.43 GB / S of reading, 90.851 MB / s of writing and 95.028 Mb / s.
But let's move on to a more real test, with Superpi. Here, we are going to force the processor to calculate 32 million decimals of the PI number and store them in memory in an intensive task for the RAM and the processor.
Correction, 5 minutes and 48 seconds. To give another example, some memories Cudimm at 8,400 MHz but CL40 in this same test bank took 5 minutes and 39 seconds, that is to say that these RAM XPG, although they are 2,400 MHz slower, only took 9 seconds more thanks to their slightest latency.
Let's go to PrintA test that also calculates millions of decimal PI number but using 4 processor cores and with another algorithm.
Here we have extraordinary figures. These other RAM Cudimm at 8,400 MHz took 8.05 seconds to calculate 32 million decimal and 264.3 seconds to calculate 1024 m of decimal. In this test, despite the lowest speed, the lowest latency has started and the performance was better, demonstrating that everything is not speed when we talk about RAM.
Let's go to a 3D scenes rendering test with Cinebench 2024.
In this test, the system obtained 2,375 points in the test with all the centers of the processor, only 58 points below what is obtained with a Cudimm RAM which cost more than triple their price.
We continue with 3DMARK CPU profileAnother intensive test for the processor and the RAM.
Here, the result is still excellent, improving the RAM scores at 8,400 MHz in everything except in the 16 cores, where there are barely 60 points below. In the rest, we said he exceeds it, even for more than 200 points in the test of a wire.
Finally, let's see what's going on with Mixer.
Here, the scores were almost nailed compared to the Ram Cudimm at 8,400 MHz, which obtained 265 samples per minute in Monster, 178 in Junkshop and 129 in class. As you can see, depending on the scenario, it's the same, below or above, it depends on how the test is demanding in relation to the bandwidth and the bandwidth and the latency. Several times, the lower latency is better than more speed.
Conclusion and verdict
The truth is that these xpg launch NEON RVB left us in love with the simple fact that they show that in a high performance PC, you do not have to opt for very high speed memories and very high prices, with a little RAM of 140 dollars, but which work in conditions and with relatively low latency such as these XPG memories that you can even get a better result.
In addition, if you are one of those who like RGB lighting on the PC, these RGB XPG NEON are a safe bet for their excellent configurable lighting system, which covers 60% of the surface of memories. They are aesthetically quite beautiful and are also very easy to configure with any RGB software on the motherboard.
Finally, to highlight the question of the sustainability of the echo that Adata presumes in these RAMs, with recycled plastic dissipators. Of course, although we have not seen that the temperature is triggered at all, it gives the feeling that Rams have a lower quality of materials due to the simple fact that certain aluminum dissipators “always carry” more than plastic, of course.
For all these reasons, we believe that these XPG launch NEON RGB deserve our Platinum price, in particular by emphasizing their performance / price and design relationship.
