There used to be a Developer Day presentation only once a year in the summer. Now we're getting an encore during the holidays too. This year's Day of the Devs: Game Awards 2024 Edition did not disappoint us either. Every time I think about the highly curated, very personal, extremely intimate presentation I can't possibly top the last onesomehow it still does.

As the video game industry moves from one big-budget sequel and live-service disaster to the next, seemingly with less and less room for creativity, experimentation, and risk-taking, Day of the Devs reminds us that there are wild, wonderful things happening all around Made our way around, as long as you know where to look. And the organization that started as a collaboration between DoubleFine and iam8bit before becoming a donor-funded nonprofit organizationactually knows where to look.

This year's event featured 19 cool-looking games from all sorts of genres, featuring a wonderful range of visual styles and from developers all over the world, and I can't wait to try them all out. Particularly TankHeadthat seems to be what you would get if you set it Shadow of the Colossus in the world of Wall E.
