At the beginning of this week we have a new teaser for Alien: earthan upcoming FX series in the Expansive science fiction universe. It shows an evil Xenomorph that escapes in a ship that comes across the earth. Scary stuff. But this show will also (apparently) initiate a promise Alien 3 Teaser made over three decades ago.
The origin of 1992 Alien 3 is a well-documented and faulty Hollywood disaster, which includes several scripts, delays and studio interference. Director David Fincher (yes, this David Fincher) has Basically rejected the film And rarely speaks about it. Fans usually hate it for a variety of reasons, not least because there are two beloved characters Aliens Outside the screen and ends with Ripley's death. But I'm not here to talk about this film. Instead, I would like to share the first teaser trailer with you Alien 3 From 1991.
So that's a pretty cool teaser and everything, but uh, Alien 3 does not take place on earth. And yet this teaser is promising. Here is the story from the trailer:
In 1979 we discovered no one who heard them screams in space. In 1992 we will discover on earth that everyone hears them scream.
Remember that after sourcesThis teaser was released at about the same time when Fincher started shooting Alien 3 And at this point – follow many different rejected scripts, including One of the well -known cyberpunk author William Gibson– Fox and everyone involved knew that the film was not near the earth. And yet they teased this idea in the trailer above.
You could think: “Well, I bet the fans were really angry about it and there was a massive counter reaction!” But that didn't really happen. I mean, I bet you $ 20 at least one person saw this teaser in a theater, were excited, and then when, when, when Alien 3 After all, he was disappointed and angry. At that time, however, things were different, and this teaser could not only be looked up online, and there were no social media platforms in the modern sense in which fans gather and make their outrage known to the filmmakers. In addition, the idea of ”franchises” and “teasers” in Hollywood was still relatively new and the audience was not so concerned about this stuff.
Now, 30 years later, Alien: earth Do what this teaser promised in the 90s and brings the Xenomorph to our home planet.
Of course, this has already happened in films twice (at least) Alien vs. predator and his continuation. However, these are not really canon in the Foreigner Franchise and break the timeline in a way that stains some fans. This is the first real time in which the extraterrestrial creatures will be on earth, and hopefully it will be worth it over 30 years of waiting.
