As it turns out, Google Play Pass is really good. Apple may fund developers to create games just for its terrible closed system, but Google seems to have gotten into the habit of noticing what's popular and simply incorporating it into its own version of a subscription service. I've played a lot of stuff that I really liked that way. And sometimes the additions are bizarre and don't seem to follow any pattern at all, which I think is why Grid of thermometers I arrived there. And I love it.

There is a version of Sudoku invented by Cracking the cryptic which uses a similar principle, but this puzzle is much simpler. It involves filling a grid based on the numbers along the Oh, I won't try to explain everything here. Just download it if you have Play Pass and thank me later.

It's my current favorite game to play while watching TV (no, I'm not part of the monstrous second-screen generation, I'm an old-school ADHDer with a brain that can't do one thing at a time). And considering I'm planning on just laying on the sofa this weekend and complaining about my painful mouth without a wisdom tooth, that seems like the most likely game I'll play. -John Walker
