The actor who was discovered dead in his house at the age of 95 this week (((Under bizarre -sounding circumstances), appeared in dozens of films and won two Oscars. He made comedies, thriller and At least one children's film. He was also the best Lex Luthor we have ever had.
We took the reason for his death to look back on some of his best films. Of course there are the classics of all time like French connection And The conversation in which Hackman showed its reach, subtlety and violence. But there are also the dark thrillers like No way out in which he plays a defense minister who is involved in a murder assignment examined by Kevin Costner. I saw it last night and flowed my interest and flowed until the last 30 minutes consolidated it as one of my favorite political thrillers from this time.
Sam Raimi The quick and the deadA western, in which Hackman plays a devilish sheriff compared to an all-star cast, belongs to which Sharon Stone, Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio are also highly recommended. I will set it this weekend. Here are seven of our other favorite films by Hackman.
