While I infiltrate the museum Indiana Jones and the Great CircleIn Vatican City, you have the chance to solve a problem faced by the local Blackshirts: They were sent a chest that they can't open because they didn't understand their own password protocols. Here's how to beat them at their own game.
The local museum in Vatican City is locked when you arrive and the only access point is hidden behind the Blackshirts' campsite. The easiest way to get in is to steal a Blackshirt disguise from their laundry. This is located in a part of the map that becomes available after you meet Gina for the first time.
Once you have crossed the Blackshirts' camp, you can enter the museum courtyard. There's usually at least one captain on patrol here who can see through your disguise, but most of the local fascists are too bored to notice you. This is a good opportunity to raid their tents for cash, and along the way you happen to come across A Date to Remember.
Enter the radio tent on the northeast side of the courtyard. By the way, there is a sleeping Blackshirt here with a fly swatter next to him, making this area a great place to unlock the Pest Control achievement.
Next, grab three Mystery Notes – the Code Lookup Table, the Calendar Page, and the Secret Delivery Letter – from the tent. The calendar page is easy to miss, but it is on the desk next to the radio and typewriter.
Taken together, these three papers tell a story: The Blackshirts here regularly receive shipments in suitcases locked behind a four-digit code based on the day of the week. However, today's code (DICE) doesn't seem to work.
The answer to this puzzle is shockingly simple, but requires an intuitive leap. We'll go through it step by step.
The reason the Blackshirts are so confused is because they tried to derive the code from it on the day the package arrived And not the day it was sent.
If you look at the Secret Delivery Letter, it clearly states that the package was forwarded October 15ththat is a Friday (Venerdi or Ven., in Italian). These idiots tried to open the trunk thinking it was locked with the October 20th code.
If you run the DICE code over the Friday column in the code lookup table, you get the actual code: 6380.
Enter that into the trunk to solve the puzzle. Your rewards include a Book of Vatican Medicine, which marks all remaining medicine bottles in Vatican City on your map; the final note on this mystery, Giovanni's letter; 10 lira; and 100 additional adventure points.
