Avengers: End of the World is still more than a year away, but it's not too early to learn a few of the film's secrets. Doctor Strange, for example, apparently won't appear in the next Avengers film. Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch revealed this fact during a Interview with Varietywho he immediately realized could be a killjoy, before quickly putting his fears to rest with a succinct “Screw it.”

But don't worry, Benedict, it's probably not really a spoiler. Because who could be surprised by the news that not every Avenger would appear in the next team-up film? The universe at this point has (conservatively) 20 semi-important characters. To fit them all into the entire film would require a montage of one-line introductions – and it would still take over three hours.

Another reason it's not a spoiler is what else Cumberbatch revealed in the interview: Strange will be back. In fact, he will come back more than once. For one thing, Cumberbatch has reported that his MCU character appears in “many” films Avengers: Secret WarSo it's not like the world is over with Strange, he just doesn't fit into the plot of the first film. More importantly, Doctor Strange is also getting a third standalone film, so his absence from Avengers isn't a sign of his MCU future.

But even if this isn't a spoiler, it does offer some interesting insights into the possible plot of End of the world. For example, we know for sure that Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom isn't going to meet the Avengers all at once. Instead, it seems like the films are proving their immense cast over the first two films.
