On December 22nd, the popular Korean MMORPG 2019, Lost ArkShe announced an update for a hero class months before her official release in the US and Europe in April. The update isn’t a gameplay update, but more of a cosmetic one, toning down any perceived naughtiness by adding some length and underwear to her dress.
In the MMORPG Lost Ark was re-released in the US and Europe after its publisher Smilegate partnered with Amazon Games. The game made gangbusters by setting new concurrent player records on Steam. Despite its critical success, some of Lost Ark‘s western player base criticized the game for being overpowered due to its antiquated female portrayal scantily clad armor designs and Aggressive hip swinging running animations.

Rather than stripping off the game’s revealing outfits, said Soomin Park, the franchise leader at Amazon Games Eurogamer Lost Ark will “adjust” them as early as March or last year. At the time, these adjustments did not consist of changing the outfits to make them less revealing, but included changes to the game’s marketing. As a result, these revealing outfits are not featured as prominently in the game’s advertisements or character creation screen.
“We’re also including some new outfit options that aren’t quite as revealing, but these are an addition and not a replacement,” Park said Eurogamer.

Gameplay-wise, nothing will change for the Artist class, but some skins will be modified to better align with western norms.”
In addition to the artist’s debut for western players, Lost Ark will also gain new faces The witcher 3‘s Geralt and Ciri later this month for his special joint event, as well as a sneak peek at the game’s one-year anniversary event.
